Bond at the moment is run by someone who inherited the family business but doesn't have any great love for the movies, in fact she seems vaguely embarrassed by them. That's why she keeps hiring people who only agree to work on them if they can change them out of all recognition.
Not to beat the "they're doing a crap job" horse again but that is true. :)

Casino Royale has not aged as well as I thought it would. I feel bad for anyone who saw it on the USA channel.

If it happens: Say good-buy to 2011 for Bond 23.
MGM on its Way to Auction
MGM’s iconic roaring lion has been stifled to whimpers of late due to ticket-sale whoas, and the box office blows have the once ample studio heading to the auction house again.

The auction would be at least a two-part process. Time Warner could bid for MGM-UA’s library of 4,000 titles, while a separate company may choose to purchase the lionesque logo, Variety reports. Sources suggest that billionaire Kirk Kerkorian might have an eye on the company, after having already bought and sold MGM twice.

Specialist Stephen Cooper, the financial comeback king who worked to revive the Krispy Kreme franchise, stepped in for former CEO Harry Sloan to restructure the company out of about $3.7 billion worth of debt.

At this point, bankruptcy is still an option for the faltering studio, which plans to release comedies Hot Tub Time Machine and The Zookeeper in Oct. 2010, and a Red Dawn remake the following November.

I don't know anything about the guy, but Kirk Kerkorian is a fantastic name for a movie mogul.

good god is it that bad?
I knew they were in trouble but thought it would be ok.

Just a thought is MGM in trouble because Sony got all the Bond profits for the last 2 movies?

They're really going to have to crunch numbers to make Bond 23 work-none of those steadicams-they could do an entire Bond movie on Super8!(just a thought!)

He wasn't the source of the problem, but he's part of the problem. Babs want a gritty Bond, so she went for a gritty-faced actor  . Kidding aside, I don't really understand what the Bond heirs want to do with modern Bond version... separate it from the Classic Bond? Imitate modern bad-ass agent types like Bauer and Bourne?
BOND sells, NOT CRAIG
The reboot is a risky area, did Eon need to do it? NO. Did this confuse alot of people? YES.
The Bond character will always be anchored in the values of the 60s

Hi Jedi good to see you around.

The arguments that they changed bond to fit craig make sense but I don't get what they are trying to do with him either.

James Bond is supposed to be suave handsome and sophisticated. God only knows what Danny is doing in the role. The argument that he made a good Bond because Bond was rough in his youth is silly. Was James Bond a strange looking midget who grew up to look like Sirs Sean or Roger?
