The Streets, Ronnie Corbett and James Bond are part of the diverse autumn line-up for The South Bank Show.

The ITV1 arts show returns on Sunday September 21 with a film on Mike Skinner's band, who programme makers describe as "a truly original voice, whose music marks the soundtrack of today's urban youth".

This will be followed in October with The One Ronnie, a portrait of one of the country's best loved comedians.

It features specially written new material, and explores Ronnie's passions for golf, cookery and fine tailoring; as well as a critique of contemporary comedy.

Another programme follows a year in the life of film-maker and photographer Sam Taylor-Wood, with exclusive access to her life and work as she makes her first short film (which premiered at Cannes), attends the opening of her first major retrospective in the US and prepares for an exhibition of new work at White Cube.

And Bond fans will be delighted by a definitive profile of one of the most enduring icons of popular culture. Melvyn Bragg interviews Daniel Craig on what it means to be Bond, and Sean Connery the first and most iconic Bond.

The show also looks at the creative and artistic aspects particular to the Bond brand and discovers why the Bond films have always been a major cultural event.

Which is what they should have done in 2005, but noooo they had to start a pissing match with the people who had been life long devotees to the series.
I doubt Craig will have much to say beyond himself and how he changed things.

Simple fact if different tact was embraced in 2005 a lot hard feelings wouldn't exist today.
Instead we got the unholy yesbot trio proudly tearing down the Bond legacy. Emboldened and empowered by the short sighted matriarch and anointed studio they go out blissfully causing descent. Be like Bourne ~resistance is futile !

Daniel Craig may leave a big hole in your life, without him much of your current identity wouldn't be.

Truthfully i don't expect much from craig in the interview beyond talking about himself, he failed to make such inroads earlier when it could have helped him and I doubt i will dawn on him to do it now.
I also don't expect much from Connery except maybe to request a drink refill mistaking the reporter for hired help.

I agree with Mazor's theory that Craig/Eon and his fans attacked the Cubby Bond series, the other Bonds, and any fans who did not like the new direction. Some of the things Martin Campbell said were a disgrace. Maybe this was a reaction to the complaints about Craig. Many people felt they had to support him, so they attacked all the other Bonds, actors connected with the role of Bond, and set up mawkish support message boards on CommanderBond. Maybe they were just fed up with Cubby's Bond, and welcomed the radical changes.
