Perfect film to kick off the series! Simple but very effective story. All the Bondian elements are there from the start. We also get some slight background info when 007 is issued his new gun. James Bond is somewhere in the middle of his career on this mission.
Great direction from Young! Also top notch cast and art direction! Dr No's laboratory looks very Bondian and high tech!
No pre-credit sequence in this film, but it's better without in this first film I think. Only negative thing is that the score isn't much developed. On the other hand the Bond theme is heard many times throughout the film which is nice.
A low-budget production that was near perfect, and came at a perfect time, and started the most successful series in the history of cinema!
