Which Bond would you be/be with?
It’s been said Bond is the man every man wants to be and every woman wants to be with. I've always wanted to ask this question to like-minded fans to see what you’d say. This isn't a simple who’s your favorite actor question, it’s who would you change places with. It could be the Bond who went on your favorite adventure, was the most suave, bedded your favorite Bond Girl, used your favorite gadget etc. Be as specific or generic as you like of course there are no wrong answers!
I’ll go first:
I would be Connery’s Bond, I feel he is the best dressed (in general), bedded the sexiest women (especially the girls in Thunderball), drove the best car (DB5), and had the best adventure ( Thunderball, while not my favorite movie it makes the best adventure)
So I ask you Classic Bond boys and girls which Bond do you want to be/be with?

I'd be Roger's Bond as he always seemed to be having the most fun. He had a quip for any situation, safari suits, a Lotus that can travel underwater. Sounds good to me.

Dalton is the one that made the biggest impression with me.

Yes, but he had it pretty rough compared to Moore's Bond. Sir Rog probably works best as a fantasy figure, for precisely the reason that his films are usually criticised - he never seems to be in any real danger. Plus, he had the best Bond girls: Jane Seymour, Barbara Bach, Lois Chiles, Carole Bouquet....Omega wrote:Dalton is the one that made the biggest impression with me.

To contradict my previous post, RogBond also bedded Grace Jones, so it wasn't all fun and games. Do you think that's what he was referring to in Skyfall with the "What makes you think it's my first time?" line?

Could say that he may be referring to the torture scene in Casino Royale, one of the few occasions where Craig smiles and seems to be enjoying himself.Kristatos wrote:To contradict my previous post, RogBond also bedded Grace Jones, so it wasn't all fun and games. There is a sort of point where the bond movies were viewed as ultra heterosexual, CR and sky fall go out of the way to add gay torture scenes in tune with the new social sensitivity. Which doesn't make much sense because it makes gays look bad but it forces "bond" to make amends for being so d**n heterosexual all those years.
Aside from the PC statement Craig never seems to enjoy himself with any of the women, it's not the writing or directing its Craig. I don't think the movie exists where he has on screen chemistry.

Roger in Moonraker: what an adventure!
Is Craig's "Bond" purposely written as a repulsive character that no one would want to be?

Re: Which Bond would you be/be with?
I'll just chose two off the top of my bowler: YOLT's Bond. It happened to star Connery, but it would have been fun with any of the other Bonds (except the latest 'incarnation'). Not the best film technically, but great fun .... to be buried at sea in Hong Kong harbor (hah hah) and further pulls of the leg with M and Moneypenny in their offices in a submarine, 007 shooting through a torpedo tube, suaving through Tokyo, etc etc. Don't forget possibly the best overall score of all, with plenty of Barry bits (love the garden tackle/knife killing and all thru to Osato's HQ). And bigger than life wedding with that awesome shot as Kissy looks up (with Master Barry as co-star). The most-fun sidekick in Tanaka. You can't fault a friend who brings you to his house with excellent indoor plumbing -- the only Bond film where 007 actually has a real sidekick. LALD, another fun one that grows with age. Solitaire, her name says it all, a game to play when no one's looking. Also like Brosnan's GE and TWINE, especially for the Bond girls, as beautiful as any of Connery's -- sorry for bending the rules of the question

To answer the question Connery with no doubt!

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.

Let me see who I would pick . . . Roger Moore of course. Smooth, intelligent refined and calm under danger/pressure (wish I could be like that) and of course his navy coloured jackets and cream trousers and safari suit is the ultimate. By being him I could give therapy to people as his incarnation of bond puts a smile on my face unlike Craig's portrayal which makes me depressed. Movie I would pick is octopussy - lavish, romantic, adventurous, suspenseful and maud Adams, need I say Moore?

Re: Which Bond would you be/be with?
The Moore certainly had an 'older Bond' wardrobe, with his pants seeming to become more billowing with the years. Connery's wardrobe and physique in TB is still classic, with slim pants and jacket (dinner). Craig's overly-tight suits, I predict, will not be very classic in a few years. He looks like a cheapie second hand hood that would be in the background of DAF (book and movie). His tailors must be snickering, charging thousands of pounds from off-the-rack second hand stores.Mooreisbond wrote:Let me see who I would pick . . . Roger Moore of course.
