New Bond Possibilities

Post by Teddyburr »

Now if we were to replace DC who would make a great replacement.... IMO Clive Owen would make the perfect bond! he has the gruff appearance yet hes still suave and handsome the man is born to be bond i have no idea why he isnt bond yet he shoud've replaced brosnan!

He said that he was offered the role several times, but wasn't interested.

I've wondered about this he's said he wasn't interested, however there have been stories that he was never seriously considered and wanted to be.
Pink Panther he mocked he role so.... maybe there is something to it.

In 2005 Amy Pascal wanted him instead of Daniel Craig. I do not consider him a best possible candidate, better than choice than Dougray bloody Scott, no question. A better actor then Daniel, you bet. He would be better than Daniel as Bond and maybe had he been allowed the role he could have refined himself a little more and won me over. Despite what the story below claims I don't think his career was damaged by not getting Bond, Daniel Craig was made but it and only it, Craig has absolutely no traction out side of Bond and Clive did and does.

Clive Owen steps out of the shadow of James Bond
Owen had an ace up his sleeve, courtesy of unrelenting chatter in the first half of the decade that he was destined to succeed Pierce Brosnan as James Bond – until the man he'd pipped at the post for King Arthur, Daniel Craig, dramatically turned the tables.

If it stung, Owen tried not to let it show, sticking tongue-in-cheek for a Bond-style cameo in 2006's The Pink Panther remake and insisting, somewhat unconvincingly, in a 2007 interview with Details magazine that he was never even approached about 007. Whatever the truth, the perception that Owen "lost" the role to Craig has possibly hindered his career momentum.

Based on this current madness, the next James Bond shall be played by ethnic actors, freaks/weirdos, robots, and pets. I guess anyone can be Bond now.

I think Dougray Scott would be fine. But then I enjoyed Gregory's Two Girls.

It's all about ethnic actors, freaks/weirdos, robots, and pets as Bond now.

You can forget about bringing back the traditional tall and dark-haired Bond, considering the general public will never separate DC's Bond from the classic Bond. That being said, it seems that anyone or anything can be Bond now (as long as they can act), regardless race and appearance.

A change from classic type like Brosnan to rugged blond like DC was a radical one. A change from a blonde caucasian to Asian shall be no different. Let's see how an Asian can handle the role, shall we?
