Blatantly copying Batman Begins trailer
The reason it worked for Bats is his story is so well known only glimpse were needed, combined with a constant narrative it all merged to complete the mental image for the audience. Don't forget the easy to remember name, Batman Begins, the title worked perfectly with the footage used.

The reason this technique does not work for Quark is the narrative is not constant, wandering all over the place it requires intimate knowledge of the last movie to comprehend its significance.

The Dark Knight

Once again it works because the story is very well known, and the trailer is introducing well known charters. Harvey Dent. The Jokers rant. The final joke all sell the concept as well as the action of Batman doing what Batman does.

The Phantom Menace trailer got applause from the audience with one line "Qui-Gon Jinn: Anakin Skywalker, meet Obi-Wan Kenobi.". (The last applause that movie would ever receive.)
When a story is well known the narrative can try to expand or introduce new characters. Quark requires a steadier more competent narrative.

I'm sure there is a better trailer that could have been produced. Unfortunately it looks like the producers may be too stuck on themselves, perhaps too in love with their "artistic vision", to grasp that in this case simpler is better.
