CR didn't top DAD's record in North America, which is what I assume we're talking about here.
You assume wrong, I was talking about WORLDWIDE record, something that matters most to Bond.
I know some of you wanna ignore worldwide figures because you can't headline "Penguin tops Bond" on that subject.

In that case, $70-80 million is feasible (edit: especially considering CR had an $80 million opening weekend worldwide). I don't think it'll top Thunderball's worldwide adjusted gross, though. CR fell just shy of $600 million, whereas TB grossed over a billion in adjusted dollars.

"He's the one that doesn't smile" - Queen Elizabeth II on Daniel Craig
I've seen a few Bond adjusted BO lists, and that one seems to
fit in quite well with the others.
It proves a few points i.e How popular Roger Moores films were,
particularly with the international market, and it aslo dissproves
the unfair claims by some that OHMSS was a failure.
Coming back to reality........Bond 22 would need to gain tens of millions
of extra admissions to get any where near the limit of TB!
But you never know!!

Are you sure about that? Seems way over the top, like one of Kal-El Extreme's absurd overpredictions at Box Office Mojo (Kal-El is a forum poster who has a habit of making wildly improbable predictions of a film's opening weekend/total gross and then posting "what went wrong?" threads when they, inevitably, fail to meet his predicted totals).
That's what I thought first too, knowing CM007 of old, but no, he was being serious.
This guy is quite well informed with his facts and statistics too, so this is not something he would say on a whim.
If we are going to start using quotes, here are a few recent posts on AJB:
Quite a few of my brethren were so disgusted by the prospect of a reboot with Daniel Craig as Bond that they have left the site. As far as they're concerned, the James Bond they've known and loved is dead. I happen to be one of the few survivors of that genocide that was "The Craig Wars."
It is actually the Cinematic Bond Traditionalists that need to stick together. My guess is that the CBT's will remain in hiding until the end of Craig's tenure, which hopefully isn't too far into the future.
In the meantime, I will remain an active member and spokesman for the CBT's. Although I'll undoubtedly have to seek counseling and therapy in the Bond off-time, I expect to make a full and speedy recovery once the Craig Era comes to a close and the balance is once again restored
If I had it my way, there would have been no reboot and Pierce Brosnan would have been allowed to continue in the role for as long as he was willing. When Pierce did decide to leave, he should have been succeeded by Jackman, Owen, or Butler. These men have all the right stuff. They are extremely handsome as well as sophisticated. Daniel Craig struggles for me in these departments. When he smiles, his whole face wrinkles up like a pug. He's far too buff and in need of a different haircut. Worst of all, Craig seemed to be devoid of charisma in CR. EON could have easily done better. And I'm not talking about Bale or Cavill either; IMO they are far too young for the role.Tee Hee
I would say that CR is probably the most overrated Bond film. It's okay, but I think its screenplay is quite flawed, I didn't like Eva Green at all and I don't think that Craig is such an amazing Bond.Dan Same
Craig did nothing for me as Bond. I give him props for taking the role so seriously and clearly putting his heart and soul into it, but I just didn't care for his interpretation. Also, for all the talk of seeing him evolve; he changes little. He starts the movie as a surly womanizer with a chip on his shoulder who doesn't trust anyone, and ends up pretty much the same way at the film's conclusion. Likewise, Eva Green left me cold as well. Through her final act, I found her character to be one of the most pathetic, weak and downright cowardly Bond girls ever. By the time she decides to drown herself, Bond knows what she did, still tries to save her and is probably willing to forgive her. She can't protect him anymore - heck, she doesn't need to protect him as he can clearly take care of himself. So why excactly does she take her own life? I never really made that connection.
In fact, the way I saw it, Bond failed miserably at several key points during the mission. First he fails to get the bomber at the start, then he fails to get LeChiffre alive, then he loses the money as we see Mr. White walk away with the briefcase.
It's a well made film, but I guess I just don't care for Haggis' writing or his treatment of the material. Just my opinion. Tony DP
Put me down as another who feels Casino Royale is the most over-rated Bond entry. I find that, along with Die Another Day, it's one of the DVDs in my collection that I visit the least.
The excess emotion that the scriptwriters shoe-horned into the story really ruined Fleming's orginal story.Darenhat

Still very much in the minority. If I was to complile a list of positive quotes from various internet Bond forum sites, we'd be here all day reading them.

I think anyone who is Bond would be loved. Everyone who is ever involved with series always get recognition.

Exactly, Lazenby and Dalton sure didn't have a hard time winning a large audience.

The chances are that Bond 22 will be successful, so I don't consider CM007 to be incorrect with that assumption. Admittedly his BO predictions are optimistic.
With reference to his " I also predict that Craig will be hailed by all as the greatest Bond by all ", he has clearly demonstrated that he has either lost all his marbles or is totally delusional in his thought process.

Preaching to the Non-converted that Craig will be hailed by 'all' as the greatest Bond, is probably the most retarded comment, I've heard on any forum.

yeah, its one opinion for who there favorite Bond is. Mine personal favorite is Sean Connery and my least fav. is Daniel Craig. But if someone likes Daniel Craig then its there opinion.

We'll see how fresh that statement of yours lasts by the time Craig hits ledgendary status Connery and Moore have achieved.

Moore is certainly legendary but I certainly wouldn't say hailed by 'All' as the greatest Bond. There is more chance of ice skating uphill as converting Anti-Craig members on here.
I confidently stand by my statement that CM007 has lost the plot.
