The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

Of course you're right with this quote V, I get what you're saying, but I thought I point out, no one is going to put her films up there with these two movies because she couldn't touch these movies with a ten foot pole. It would be one thing if her "deep" "character studies" were good, I'd still complain because that isn't what most folks tune in to Bond for in the first place, but I'd complain a bit less if they were quality.
Ms Barbara's abilities are limited to following the herd. If somebody else makes something cutting edge capturing the attention of the right crowd she is all over it. She not a innovator, nor a dynamo of movie production. I once hoped First Class and Kingsman would kick them in the rear, not only is the director you snubbed good, he is good at creating a world EON has been desperate to recapture since Goldfinger and Thunderball. Sadly it may be a world they are no longer interested in finding. Not when hipster writers and directors ar dying to line up and emo the living hell out of 007.

Sadly my only real hope Daniel has truly burnt his bridges as many of the 007 luvvys say. Help me Ob Wan Kenobi!

That would be a great name for a Craig spoof novel 'The Living Hell', maybe spoof 'The Living Daylights' with Daniels flair for the dramatic.

Why did that poor girl on the cello case have to die? Just moments before her life had held such promise. They shared a laugh while they were dashing throu the snow, thoughts of a warm fire back at the lodge and a night of getting to know one another kept the spirits warm in the bleak snowscape of hell Bond knew the world truly was. Just as Bond expected the enemy lay in wait just round the next bend.
His heart hammering away like a scared rabbit 007 had to think fast, the young lass ignorant of the impending danger look up at Bond with doe like eyes. Bond saw his countenance reflected back at him, it was a jarring sight of a scowling chimp which sent him into action. Promptly headbutting the damsel in distress into unconsciousness then propelling her limp body away from him as he rolled off the cello case landing like a badger he scurried to safety beneath the snow bank of dense shrubbery he watched the horror unfold before him.

The cello case with its lone occupant zipped neatly throu the snow, haloed by the majesty of winter. Reminiscent of a winters scene capture by Norman Rockwell of little scamps playing delightfully in the fresh Christmas snow the little cello case sped along merrily. Until it came in to full view of the KGB agents positioned to stop their escape, for the KGB winter only reminded them of Siberia, no joy to be had there so to warm their frost bitten hands they did the only thing they could to keep warm. Open fire on the delightful little case as it sped happily towards them. The Kalashnikovs belched in full auto joy like Rambo on holiday. Splinters were All that remained of the poor girl who's only real sin besides being a useful patsy was trusting in the English agent she had known only as "Bond", "the Bond" that was how he introduced himself after he lit one of his own farts at the black tie embassy reception.
Bond remembered the evening with fondness, he had gotten some foreign bird to pull his finger, then flawlessly managed to ignite the flatuints wowing the crowed of sophisticated Soviets gathered round to bask in the essence of Britain's sexiest man.
His face frozen in pure rage, looked the same as it always did. He pressed his duck lips hard in disgust. He make those bas***ds pay for this! Or he wasn't James Tyrone Xavier Marmaduke Bond!

The End

At one point Barbara and co. decided they will sell these "deep" emo character studies as something straight out of Fleming's books. After all it was the only thing they could try to do because they couldn't actually sell Craig as the most dashing and charismatic Bond ever because...well,look at the man. They repeated Craig is a picture perfect potrayal of Fleming's Bond over and over.Say a lie over and over again and it eventually will become the truth.

I'm seeing a possible Seagal route for Pierce's upcoming film I.T.

I don't think there's the same stigma attached to going straight to streaming now that there used to be with straight to video or DVD movies. The multiplexes are increasingly the preserve of the big tentpole movies. For everything else, there's Netflix.

Honestly I don't know why you are constantly putting Seagal and Brosnan in the same sentence.

Brosnan is becoming more of a DVD actor than a mainstream film actor, ala Seagal.

The service provider for our main site is having trouble so the main page is not loading. Classic side is working because it is on a different server, if classic goes down I assume/hope the main page will be back up we can message on there or at http://alternative007.proboards.com/. None of our data is at risk it, it is a major problem at our provider lot of complaints overloading their customer service.

It would be nice to get a refund for the lost service, not going to hold my breath. Just wanted to let you all know what is happening.

Does Urge sound uninspiring as a title? I knew from the beginning that this movie will fare very poorly.

most of Hollywood can't make w decent movie. Brosnan is keeping himself busy and out there playing different roles. I'm not sure what you want him to do , he might luckily land on the next big thing but if he keep working the jobs he can get he might get a reputation he is a better actor than credited with .

I think he already has a reputation as an interesting actor who has reinvented himself post-Bond. Mark Kermode, for example, speaks very highly of him.

Really? Good Dalton and Connery did a lot of sometimes bad movie and tv they just kept working after bond getting better reputations. I think fbf has too high a bar for success. It'd be nice if Brosnan lands a Jurassic park Star Wars sized franchise again but his goal is to keep busy and be known as more than a pretty face famous enough for bond

When was the last time you saw a star-driven blockbuster? Chris Pratt's popularity in Guardians of the Galaxy may have brought a few more people to see Jurassic World, for example, but gone are the days when an A-list star could guarantee an extra $100 million at the box office, like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Eddie Murphy could in the '80s. I think FBF is dreaming of some massive star vehicle for Brozza that would propel him back into the stratosphere. Never gonna happen, for Brosnan or anyone else.

If Pierce keeps on doing badly rated on-screen works, this is the kind of thing that will happen to him.

Chris Pratt is just lucky. With or without him, Jurassic World can still make as much money today. Anybody can end starring in a $1 billion movie. It's just depends whether an actor or actress being in the right place in the right time.

Pierce is currently starring in The Son, a series from AMC. That should be something. If not....

Pratt brought NOTHING to Jurassic World. The film did it on it's content.

I said that he *may* have brought some people in who liked him in GOTG. I don't know whether he did or not, but given the number of people who saw the film, it seems unlikely to me that there wasn't a single person in the audience who was there because they wanted to see Starlord and dinosaurs in the same movie. Stars don't open movies any more, and I'm sure Jurassic World would have been a success without him, but that doesn't mean that nobody ever goes to see a film because they like one of the actors in it.

I don't think it's a kindness to keep alive an unrealistic expectation. I think FBF would be a much happier person if he stopped pining for something that's unlikely to happen and accepted that Pierce is making the movies he wants to make and getting good notices for most of them.
