Lets not for get Morgan Freeman (Q obviously) and Anne Hathaway as either Mrs Bond or the greatest bond Girl eva.Kristatos wrote:Nolan tends to use the same people over and over again. He'll probably want Christian Bale as Bond, Sir Michael Bladdy Caine as M and Ken Watanabe as Q.
Nolan made two movies where the "hero" ran off with Anne Hathaway. Perhaps his Freudian slip is showing.

Or Anne Hathaway as Moneypenny. Not sure who Ken Watanabe would play if Morgan Freeman is Q. Felix, perhaps?

Captain America: Civil War declined 45.1 percent to earn $4.30 million, and has earned $396.58 million through 38 days to continue its streak as the highest-grossing film of the year so far. It’s running 61.8 percent ahead of the $245.12 million 38-day start of 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, 0.6 percent ahead of the $394.28 million 38-day take of 2013’s Iron Man 3, and 9.4 percent behind the $438.15 million 38-day gross of last year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Captain America: Civil War made $1.2 million overseas this weekend, down 71.4 percent. It has now earned $745.5 million overseas and $1.142 billion global total, including $190.4 million in China, $62.8 million in Korea, $53.5 million in the United Kingdom, $41.4 million in Mexico, $40.4 million in Brazil, $27.9 million in Japan, $25.1 million in Australia, $22.9 million in France, and $21.5 million in Germany.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Well, TDKR contained a fairly blatant, shall we say, homage to Thunderball. That and the OHMSS-inspired sequence from Inception give a pretty good indicator of what a Nolan Bond film would be like. I do hope that he would resist the temptation to drown it in one of those incessant Hans Zimmer scores, though. It's the one thing I don't like about his films, and I don't blame Zimmer for it, since his other scores aren't like that.Veronica wrote:He'll also probably go for the look and feel of his Batman movies. Since Mendes so blatantly copied them I wouldn't like that yet again.

Nolan was THE fanboy choice in 2010, he's got bond in his soul. I'm not sure he'd ever do it because Nolan would have to be in charge not eon.Kristatos wrote:Well, TDKR contained a fairly blatant, shall we say, homage to Thunderball. I think he'd have the clout to get his own way. It wouldn't be like a repeat of the Quentin Tarantino situation. Tarantino is a cult director who wanted to remake the franchise in his own image. Nolan is a director with a billion-dollar franchise behind him, who would make Bond films that look like Bond films. EON aren't likely to put too many restraints on him, and if they tried, I think Warners might have something to say about that. Yes, EON own the rights to Bond, but if WB are putting up the money, they'll be the ones with the real power. Craig was as much Amy Pascal's choice as Babbzy's, by all accounts.Omega wrote:I'm not sure he'd ever do it because Nolan would have to be in charge not eon.

You are getting us all pumped here Kris
Nolan and Turner?
------- If we still get Cr-egg again, or "Hiddle-stones" with some female director, it will be a crash and burn demoralization here.

Good call on Moneypenney. Nolan's tendency to make her the woman you leave it all behind for caused me jump the shark a tad. Felix is not bad either, maybe Tiger if they remake the Blofeld trilogy.Kristatos wrote:Or Anne Hathaway as Moneypenny. Not sure who Ken Watanabe would play if Morgan Freeman is Q. Felix, perhaps?
I maybe the only one here who likes Begins better than the rest of his Bat trilogy. I thought his treatment of Batman/Wayne in begins stuck a good balance and promise for future adventures, which frankly were not delivered in 2 & 3. Couldn't help think if Nolan had made Bond Begins (which is what they tried to sell Casino Royale as) instead of EON how good it could be.

As long as Babs is producer, I don't trust EON. That name will always remind me of what she had done and got away with.bjmdds wrote:Whatever it takes, somehow,we WILL get you back here into the fold IF EON does the right thing.FormerBondFan wrote:Either Babs is out or I'm done.bjmdds wrote:First things first. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Now I remembered,TDKR also has a villain who can't feel pain and a woman played by internationaly known French actress that ends up being the real mastermind.Kristatos wrote:Well, TDKR contained a fairly blatant, shall we say, homage to Thunderball. From what I remember it also has this line:"We do not negotiate with terorists."
I think it's a big plus if a director is a Bond fan but
I think there is a possibility of Nolan playing it safe and going with the same look and feel of Batman movies which was a winning combination back then.
I think there should be a different feel and look to his Bond movies. It shouldn't be "Nolan's Bond movie in a Batman way". And it would feel like a continuation of what Mendes did,in Skyfall especially.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Turner has the BEST look I have seen for Bond since Connery FBF. Pierce was FINE in the roll. Broccoli screwed him over, 'no bout a doubt' that, but Aidan is Bond like no other actor I have seen, including Jackman or Cavill. He will be 33 soon and can be in the role for 15 years going forward. If Broccoli keeps Cr-egg or chooses any other actor than Turner, it's a farceFormerBondFan wrote:That title belongs to Pierce.
