Deadline.com:Friday’s overseas box office for Warner Bros’ Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice has come in at $19.2M in 67 markets. That reps a 71% drop from last Friday’s number in 62, including China. The international cume is now $363.4M. While China remains the top overseas market for Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent, the Tomb Sweeping holiday this weekend has seen BvS essentially buried by a pair of new local films. As predicted last week, the arrival of The Bodyguard and Chongqing Hot Pot is overtaking the superhero mashup this session. BvS made an estimated $2.6M on Friday, per Warner’s flash numbers. That relegated it to 4th place on the day, also behind China title Who Sleeps My Bro. It is straddling 3rd/4th place on Saturday with about $4.65M, according to local tracking, which has it vying with Disney’s Zootopia.

I though this statement from a story about the Dec fan boy conspiracy theories about marvel paying off critics hug the nail on the head

But what's fascinated me about the collective response to Batman v Superman is how deeply invested fans have become in its success — and just how far fans will go to convince themselves that critics have unfairly targeted their movie for doom.

It might do 60% of a Marvel blockbuster, at best.

Den of Geek just tweeted that current projections show it doing around $900 million worldwide. What percentage of a Marvel blockbuster that is rather depends on which Marvel blockbuster you're talking about.

The Mirror with their 'insider' again. It must be true then. :P Anyway, the media do seem to have consigned Daniel Craig to history. We'll see.

Is Tom Hiddleston set to be next James Bond? Barbara Broccoli sizes him up to replace Daniel Craig

Image

Night Manager heartthrob Tom Hiddleston could be licensed to make a killing after being lined up as a possible James Bond.

Tom, 35, is already in cinemas in dystopian mayhem movie High-Rise, and has just finished filming action adventure Kong: Skull Island.

And after leaving viewers both shaken and stirred as dashing agent Jonathan Pine in BBC spy thriller The Night Manager, it has emerged 007 producer Barbara Broccoli has been glued to footage of his work as she searches to replace Daniel Craig.

An insider said: “Barbara initially feared Tom was ‘too posh’ to play 007, but she’s been impressed.

“She wasn’t familiar with his whole catalogue, but she’s watched hours and hours of footage and her perception has totally changed.”

He got his break as villain Loki in 2011 US superhero film Thor. But the insider said: “Playing Pine was a wise move. He’s tapped in to a mainstream audience and shown his versatility.

“His net worth’s gone through the roof – he can virtually name his fee. But he has far more credibility than that. It’s about getting the right role.”

TOO POSH TO PLAY BOND?! WHAT?!Some may forgotten but Bond is supposed to have a dose of elegance and sophistication. If this guy is "too posh" for Bond then I don't know what the hell Sir Roger was who is just about the most elegant person on the planet. And that is a good thing! I have to say I don't see this guy fitting for Bond(Bond is NOT blonde!!) but he is far more likeable than Craig so he would be an improvement.

It was 68% in the US and Canada, though the movie has already outgrossed Man of Steel, so the "hit and run" approach has obviously worked well for Warners.

Yes, he's Loki. It's all because of the BBC spy series he starred in recently so he seems to be linked to Bond a lot at the moment. These articles always have Barbara Broccoli searching for the new Bond. Is Michael G Wilson locked in a broom cupboard?

Avengers and Ultron are the box office kings of the genre. CA: Civil War might be the 3rd highest behind these two in May.

Not very encouraging as I don't see many of the names mention as potential Bonds. Better than Daniel is not a insurmountable threshold for any of them. What concerns me more is if they continue the EMO Bond soap opera. If they ditch the reboot need for drama over substance almost any actor will do.

For the love of gawd please, please, please, let Barbara stop fawning like a drunken cougar at a wedding over whoever the actor after Daniel is.

Warner Bros.’ Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is finishing lower than its $52.4M weekend estimate yesterday, now at $51.8M. That 69% drop ties with Fox’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine as one of the steepest second-weekend drops for a superhero film ever. BvS weathered a post-Easter frame in which fans failed to return in droves. And there was nothing holding them back since the other majors didn’t trot out new wide entries. Next weekend, the most prolific release is Universal’s R-rated Melissa McCarthy comedy The Boss, which industry projections have at a $24M opening. It’s a coin toss at this point in time whether BvS hangs on to No. 1 for a third weekend. On social media, per Relish Mix, Jesse Eisenberg’s turn as Lex Luther ticked fans off. WB is now tasked with proving to critics and fans why Snyder is the guy for the Justice League job, and must seriously consider content improvements moving forward in DC 2.0.
