What I like about dalton is he was serious without losing the coolness in how bond handled himself. The movies were still fun , you had an adventure by the time the credits roll without a dark cloud of a wannabe art house film ruining the experience

I wouldn't say Dalton had that coolness that Connery,Brosnan and Moore had.Dalton felt for me like a goody spy but not so good James Bond. He's not bad either but he just doesn't that much of charisma compared to those three.I don't think he was as suave or cool or sophisticated. Also, you can see in TLD how there are many moments(one-liners) and some classic Bondian situations in which Connery,Brosnan and Moore would be natural at.With Dalton it just feels flat. This is only my opinion of course.

Dalton wanted to play James Bond as Ian Fleming described him in the books.

The Bond of the books didn't have that coolness like the cinematic Bond had.

Especially Connery had a super-cool attitude, and this definitely wasn't in the books.

James Bond on screen was a superhero, while Bond in the books was more believable as a human being.

You are right but the fact is that the general public sees Bond I think as the one potrayed by Connery or Brosnan. The suave charismatic secret agent. I'm not bashing Dalton by any means this way. The Fleming fans certainly hold him and his two movies in high regard.

Idris as Bond is sth that is not going to happen IMO. If that happened I would be very very suprised.

Seemed pretty clear to me. Basically The Terminator, but he's not a robot.

The question right now is this: will Survivor get multiple excellent reviews, breaking the mold, or will it end up in the realm of either not-so-great reviews or under radar just like everything he did after GE?

We'll see. Personally this seems like a movie that could attract audience...

I think it'll do OK, but I doubt that it'll be the big comeback movie for Pierce that FBF's entire life revolves around.

Pierce just needs a REALLY good movie (an actioner in particular) that attracts the wider public. And my life revolving around Pierce's comeback? You must be joking.

FBF posts PLENTY about the ruination of the Bond franchise by Eon. He is just deeply upset by the treatment Broccoli gave to one of her most successful Bonds ever and rightly so. He knows who the destroyer of the franchise is.

We'll see if Survivor will be a huge success or not.I think it has a potential. As for Broccoli-I don't think there's something that hasn't been said. She booted the man who brought her millions back and another age were Bond was truly back! And to fire him like that after actually saying him he'll be back is just plainly disgraceful.
