Do you think Craig is a good actor?
I personally dont think he is that good of an actor, the films i have seen him in i find him unexpressive probebly one of least expressive actors around. He has not impressed me in any film i have seen him in. i wonder if anybody could recomend a film that he performs above a level of comertose so i can give a fairer assesment of his acting.

Craig is a fine actor, but why do you always bring Brosnan back in to the equation? The Sweeney wrote:He's very good in Enduring Love.
I've also seen him in the TV program Friends from the North, which he was brilliant in.
Incidentally, do you think Brozza is a remarkable actor?
“I'd like to thank the Royal Marines for bringing me in like that and scaring the s--- out of me,” Bond Hardman Daniel Craig.

Sorry about late post back! to answer your question i find Brosnan to be a decent actor and absolutely right for James Bond, charasmatic, suarve, witty and tough when needed. For me Craig had no charisma or presence.
i am not saying that to be just awful to Craig for the sake of it, i went into Casino with an open mind with no predijuces and came out feeling cheated.
i am pleased you liked Craig and enjoyed the film though

James Bond is similar to Robin Hood, as characters. They are not your average guy who lives on the boat in the next slip. Even the universe's greatest actor may not be automatically the best choice to play a Hood or a Bond. The actor, in a word, has to have 'star quality.' Errol Flynn had that. He was the perfect choice for Robin Hood. I don't think Edward G. Robinson would have made a good Robin, nor Lawrence Olivier. Flynn had the dash, the glint in the eye to play the luvable rogue. Bond is also a luvable rogue.
So the question whether Craig is a good actor takes second place to whether he is a 'luvable rogue' .... with his Bond, there are many who wouldn't care if Bond were killed. 1/ they would say, So what. He has no emotional or cool connection with me (the audience) 2/ it's not Bond being killed, anyway. This would not be the case with the other Bond actors. Eg, even though the vote is split with Lazenby, people do care about his Bond when Tracy is killed. If that had been Craig, I would have responded as '1' and '2' above.
Was Craig in Tombraider? I don't even remember. If so, that's the only other film I've seen him in.
btw, getting back to Robin Hood a bit: Flynn was the perfect choice; if a young Brosnan had played RH, he would have been OK. At least his Hood would have been a little believable as a good-looking charmer. A young Craig would not have been even OK.
Bond is also a good looking charmer. Craig the actor is not.

He is not leading man material in my eyes, i felt more sympathy for the villian in Royale, Craig is only Bond i have wanted to see killed!

Connery is still the ultimate for me. I prefer Bond films to be more serious like the novels (FRWL, OHMSS, CR, GF, Dr. No, LTK, etc.)james stock wrote:Who is your Favourite Bond Sweeney? i have liked all the Bonds apart from Craig, my favourite is Roger Moore, i like Live and Let Die, i also liked for your eyes only. My favourite Bond is Licence to Kill i acually appreciated what Dalton was doing with the part and this is the closet to flemings Bond we will ever get in my opinion

Glad you like LTK too - it's one of my favourites. And yes, it is about as close to Fleming as you can get, well it was until CR came out....james stock wrote:Hi SweeneyThe Sweeney wrote:Connery is still the ultimate for me. You could argue that CR is about as far removed from Fleming too.The Sweeney wrote:Glad you like LTK too - it's one of my favourites. And yes, it is about as close to Fleming as you can get, well it was until CR came out....james stock wrote:
