Thank you for giving NM a publicity here as I'm very tired of doing all the fun.

I would assume you're referring to Devil May Care, Carte Blanche and Solo, correct?

In its ninth weekend, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 passed $200 million at the domestic box office. The movie is on pace to earn over $60 million less than its predecessor, which was already the lowest-grossing entry in the franchise.

Everything looks better than what passes for Bond these days.

I am, yes. They are to the book series, what Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace & Skyfall are to the film series.

I thought maybe you were talking about Gardeners books.

I know Bond books have their fans and critics of each author but why did Bond have to be constantly rebooting in the books as well as the movies. It like after 40 years to people in charge of the series (books and movie ) gave up tying to be original.

considering the prices keep going up this spidy is going backwards. They'll probably reboot in two more movies saying the Garfield spider men were so bad they had to.

The key IMHO is what bond did don't look backwards keep going forwards it worked for 40 years and 5 actors making billions.

Craig quits tomorrow what will they do? they branded themselves as making Craig movies instead of bond movies. That's why they shouldn't reboot every 6 years.

Gardner's output was patchy, but his first 3 are amongst my favourite Bond books, better even, than some of the Fleming books.

Been some good movies this year but the BO is down. Maybe it a sign the economy is not strong enough for the lower income movie goers

Ticket prices are ridiculously high with the concessions added on.

I think that's definitely an issue. I used to go to the cinema almost weekly, but now it's a rare treat.

I can get a discount on a popcorn refill but the drinks are insanely priced. Actually everything is. I used to get different kinds of snacks but it cost too much now.
It was almost $50 for two people including snacks for a matinee showing. Add another 5 - 8 for a evening show.

If I'm by myself sometime I don't bother with snacks, with a group we split who buy the popcorn bucket and it's (BYOB) buy your own beverage.

Aside from ticket prices is concessions killing the BO? and by extension the movie industry keeping people from trying new movies?

I know very few who buy food at a theatre yet they are building a huge, new, multiplex complex near me where food is brought to your seats I think. I have no interest in that.

Repeat business is how the studios clean up at the box office so if a film is so-so, it's one and done. How Skyfall grossed what it did is beyond belief. FBF may be correct in his assumption that Broccoli has MINIONS at her beckon call :!:

They have a couple of those around here, BJ.. I hear the food isn't any great shakes.. there's another movie theater where one of the theaters is a bar and they do adults-only screenings. And you can get your drink on.  :martini: :martini:

TWINE, DAD and Mamma Mia grossed higher than GE in terms worldwide numbers since we're talking about his overall career.

Image As for Affleck's Batman, Snyder told the paper fans should expect a weary, seasoned take on the character. "It's cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys," Snyder said. Now, with the "Man of Steel" sequel "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Cavill and Snyder are eager to stretch the Kryptonian's identity, examining who he is as a protector of Metropolis and as an everyday gent. He'll still be working with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and Perry White (Laurence Fishburne) at the Daily Planet, but he'll also find himself moving into Gotham City, where Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) presents a threat. "We've both created this guy, and we can push him around a little bit," Snyder said. "You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it's Batman and Superman, let's just be honest," the filmmaker says of the DC Comics characters. "I don't know how you get bigger than that." (This is shaping up to be the biggest superhero bust ever made :!:      )
