Weekend estimate is $96 million, so not quite, but close enough. And of course the actual figure could still be higher.bjmdds wrote:As expected, Captain America: The Winter Soldier took over the box office on Friday with a huge $37 million. It's up 14 percent from Thor: The Dark World's $31.9 million, and up 44 percent from the first Captain's $25.7 million. If The Winter Soldier plays similarly to The Dark World, it will inch past $100 million this weekend.

Went see captain America 2 . Didn't suck. Didn't suck at all.
Weird part is it was almost too timely with parts of the plot.
I can tell it's going to be big by how many were at the early showing, a lot more than many if the movies I saw opening weekend last year.

Saw this latest piece of Bond gaming news posted on the MI6 forum.
Looks like I'll have to continue to stick with the older Bond games until EON gets their act together.

Haha! Mobile games? I wouldn't put it past EON. They killed Bond in gaming media as well. Good job, Babs. The Saint 007 wrote:Saw this latest piece of Bond gaming news posted on the MI6 forum.

Did you take a good look at Cr-egg's mug in SK-Awful? He looks sickly throughout that trash film. He is intolerable. How was the California tennis tournament you attended? Is Federer all done? What does Ms. Bouvier think of the potential new black Blofeld Eon might be throwing at the minions who still follow the Bond films with Cr-egg? http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Gua ... il-006.jpg ......... Eon Productions presents Chiwetel Ejiofor as Blofeld.........I can see the credits running with this during Adele's boring next song being sung in Who The Hell Cares

I wasn't AT the tournament, I was just writing about it. And Federer is actually having a second youth, not all done at all, with my all-time favorite Stefan Edberg training him.bjmdds wrote:How was the California tennis tournament you attended? Also, always a pleasure to "see" you!!
I DO like Chiwetel a lot he's a great actor. I feel sorry for him that he's cast in a Cr-egg Bond movie. And I don't know that he is a right choice to play Blofeld. I don't understand why they don't create NEW characters for people to interpret instead of trying to use what's already been done and change it at all costs. Oh wait, I do know. They don't have enough talent and originality to come up with a GOOD new villain, so let's use all stuff and change it up for the hell of it. It's not a writing mentality I will EVER agree with.
So how did you like the picture of the Craigster?

Seriously that hair is tragic!! It makes him look EVEN OLDER.

I was shocked by the photo because honestly I successfully manage to see him in any way these days... so I wasn't, how should I say, up to date on what his latest horrid look was.
d**n this is bad.
As in really bad. And it looks like a bad 70s-80s man haircut. Just no.
It's no secret I've always found him wildly UNattractive, so this is more of the same for me. I in no way find him attractive. And having met him in person I'm basing this on direct impression... so there's no changing my mind. Sorry but he's a thanks, but no thanks for me. And I'm sure he feels the same exact way about me, so all's good.

BTW was him cheating with Sienna Miller addressed on here? Now that is disgraceful.

I think MGM knows what they're doing. They wouldn't even have tried if they didn't know they had high chances of succeeding.Blowfeld wrote:Ale what do you think of the Section 6 lawsuit?

Along with their history of frivolous lawsuits like Goldmember I have some obvious doubts.
I could name several recent movies that copied the Bond formula directly and nobody said boo.

MGM is messing with a big company in here. Universal. The biggest studios in Hollywood. So, I'm smelling something that would end up unpleasant for EON and MGM...

The Top Gun's original director Tony Scott, who unfortunately passed away in 2012, thought of the current storyline.
"The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones. Cruise is going to show them that they're not obsolete. They're here to stay."
"It's just getting to the starting place. Fortunately for Tom, he's very busy, so you have to find a slot he can fit into and get a budget that [studio] Paramount feels they can make the picture."
However, Jack Reacher star Tom Cruise is nothing but excited about reprising his role in the highly anticipated sequel, according to world known producer Jerry Bruckheimer
