Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Vin Diesel just dropped a big hint on his Facebook page. The actor met with some Marvel Studios execs, and though he didn't reveal what the conversation was about, he did post an image and a comment that can be read into for more information.
"Marvel meeting today... Only the people in the room can tell you what was discussed..." Diesel writes, along with the above photo. "P.s. Thanks to Our page, for pushing to make it happen... you know I get tunnel vision with my work... and after that meeting today... wow!"
The poster behind Diesel teases "the new Giant Man," a character who is also known as Ant-Man in the Marvel Universe. It's no secret that Marvel is working on a movie focused on "Ant-Man" that will be directed by Edgar Wright. Though it's due out in theaters on Nov. 6, 2015, no casting announcements have been made. What better time than Comic-Con (or D23) for Marvel to roll out some exciting announcements, no?
Others have noted Diesel's use of the word "vision" in his Facebook post. Rumors have been swirling since "The Avengers" was released that The Vision would be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it could be that Diesel is playing -- or at least hinting at -- that character. Interestingly enough, the first version of Vision was a part of Ant-Man's storyline. In this case, those facts don't seem like coincidences. (It had better not be Diesel as Ant-Man. That would doom it before it started

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Rumors were flying around yesterday that Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer was up for the title role in Marvel and Edgar Wright's Ant-Man. Never mind that Hammer doesn't come across as the Ant-Man type, or as an Edgar Wright type of actor even. (This had better not be true as well. Are these Hollywood producers complete morons or what?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
It looks like Marvel wants Ant-Man released 6 months after the Avengers 2 so the date could stick. If it does, it's http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg ... 10x343.jpg vs. http://cdn04.cdn.justjared.com/wp-conte ... nyc-01.jpg on November 6, 2013Kristatos wrote:I don't like making predictions, but I'd be *extremely* surprised if Ant-Man still has the same release date this time next year.bjmdds wrote:Let's see what occurs.
Edit: though I hope it remains close enough that supporting Ant-Man over Bond is a viable option.

I wish HBP wasn't delayed. That way we would've won with Madagascar 2 winning over QOS. Yes, I will see Ant-Man. Three times at least. But multiple viewings won't stop Bond 24 from winning. Again Omega is right about endorsing non-Bond franchise being unaffected against the DC Virus, considering SF has beaten the likes of the vampires, Middle Earth creatures, and even Chris Nolan's Bat. I wouldn't be surprised if Babs The SOB manages to have any future DC's Bonds destroy the Jedi (who will make their return sometime this decade). I know that SOB is up to something, and she is very clever as in an EVIL genius. What's left sending in WWE/TNA/UFC stars who can act and the likes of Marty Feldman as Bond, not to mentioned the freaks & weirdos.bjmdds wrote:Are they sure they want to open up the SAME weekend as the eagerly anticipated Marvel superhero: My money is on Ant-Man. I have a feeling MGM push the point EON seemed content to wait and see. Humm as I recall 2015 is gagging with big names, Star Wars, Avatar 2, Hunger Games, Jurassic park, mission impossible. I wonder who is going to move over.English Agent wrote:BBC link to latest Bond news:-

This video explains why Broccoli has been successful..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf7aoj_Xcs0 ....."they drink the sand because they don't know the difference." That mindset is why Cr-egg has become successful at the Bond box office. It's the idiotic minions that FBF has constantly complained about that are the problem. They want a Bond film so bad that a moron like Cr-egg will suffice. If that's the case, get Shane McMahon to play the role of Bond.

There's also Untitled Peanuts Movie opening on the same day as Skyfall 2. That date might stay because it's largely aiming at a different audience than Bond.

It doesn't matter anymore as far as non-Bond franchises/movies (whether the audience are same or different) are concerned, considering Skyfall has beaten the likes of the vampires, Middle Earth creature, and even Nolan's Bat.Kristatos wrote:There's also Untitled Peanuts Movie opening on the same day as Skyfall 2. What left is having non-classic type actors (which includes freaks & weirdos) to take over once DC retires. Anyone can be Bond now since Babs The SOB manages to give DC a successful Bond, and I know she'll do anything make Bond 24 more successful than Skyfall. She's up to something, and I know.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Well for me, those vampires (Twilight), Nolan's Dark Knight, Tony Gilroy's Bourne, and many other emo/modern-thriller stuff are on the same page as Cr-egg/Babs' latest trilogy is. They all should be taken down by the mass media. Expendables? I wish them the best of luck. They are the ones who know how to entertain an audience.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
This actually coincides with some thoughts I've been having on the future direction of this site. Rather than focusing on Daniel Craig, who I see as merely a symptom, not the disease, we could expand into a movie site with a definite viewpoint and audience in mind - one for people who are tired of the so-called New Serious and want to put the fun back into the movies. We could promote things like the Iron Man movies and Ghost Protocol that are likely to appeal to fans of Classic Bond. I feel this treads a middle path between FBF's "anything but Bond" approach, which casts its net a little too widely for my tastes, and the current focus, which is possibly too narrow.JackJamesBond007 wrote:Well for me, those vampires (Twilight), Nolan's Dark Knight, Tony Gilroy's Bourne, and many other emo/modern-thriller stuff are on the same page as Cr-egg/Babs' latest trilogy is. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Cr-egg is yesterday's news and Broccoli's obsession. We promote other films here all the time so why not let the internet world find out that this website is for all non-Cr-egg Bond franchise action film discussions relating to the spy genre/superheroes/etc? ........... " A release date for the film has been firmed up, as Bond 24 now joins the absolutely insane list of films that will hit theaters in 2015. The pic will open in the UK on October 23, 2015, and in the US on November 6, 2015. It’s essentially the same release date strategy as Skyfall. The pic is currently slated to open in the US opposite Edgar Wright’s Marvel film Ant-Man and the untitled Peanuts movie, but one imagines Marvel will alter the Ant-Man release date slightly so Bond and the superhero pic don’t cannibalize each other at the box office."

Kris and FBF, your favorite news tidbit is being recycled again on July 12th
Why? http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=817662 http://www.inquisitr.com/844351/idris-elba-james-bond/ I now believe Broccoli is floating this rumor to gauge reaction so she can further justify replacing Cr-egg with another abomination.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
More likely they had some space to fill and were using yesterday's announcement as an excuse to drag an old rumor out of the back of the filing cabinet.

With perfect timing, this appears in today's Guardian: "Pacific Rim is consistently thrilling, playful and - its guilty secret - unfashionably fun for a blockbuster at a time when most superhero movies have succumbed to a terminal gloom." http://t.co/fJo3ichvOh

Put the FUN back in action films
The worm is now turning. Will it seal Cr-egg's fate and stop this psyche exploration of fictional heroes?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Well, Craig is already announced for Bond 24, but it might make the filmmakers think twice about continuing the emo approach to Bond. I'm planning to see Pacific Rim on my birthday, 2 weeks from today, but hopefully some DCINBers will see it this weekend and help make it a success. It might also have the added effect of making Idris Elba too big for Bond.bjmdds wrote:Put the FUN back in action filmsThe worm is now turning.
