Great movie. My wife being Iranian, she said the depiction of Tehran in the late 70's in the movie looked very accurate.
Good movie.

Just watched this last night, and I really d**n enjoyed it. You just can't turn your back to Statham. And plus, the movie is a Stath-ified adaptation of a Richard Stark novel Flashfire. It wasn't that classical, but I enjoyed it.

Deadlier Than The Male is the better of the two, imo, but they're both enjoyable films.

Of course, Deadlier Than The Male is one of the best spy films ever made.

Just watched this film, again. It's already the eighteenth time and I've seen it. It's just more than being awesome!! Lee Van Cleef literally ROCKS as Sabata, who I presume is Colonel Douglas Mortimer from For A Few Dollars More itself. Come on, it IS him, look at his persona, the same watch he was using, the same guns he had, the same outfit he was wearing, the same lines he was delivering, the same actor it was portrayed by, the same era it was set in, but probably they didn't mention Sabata's original name due to copyright problems. However, I wouldn't get bored whenever I watch this movie, it's just a classical and mindblowing spaghetti western, probably one of the best "lost" cinema genres ever been.

I watched it too!!! As you always say Bond is dead now but it does not mean there are not plenty of big fun escapist films to watch instead.

Just leaving Iron man 3, got to say I enjoyed it. Amazing how many stayed until the end of the credits for the teaser.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol on DVD (finally!) I said after The Incredibles that Brad Bird should direct a Bond film, and this confirms it for me. Terrific fun (something that has been sorely lacking from the Bond films since the reboot), and though it was off-format, with all the shutting down the IMF stuff, it still managed to hit all the touchstones, unlike CR.

My only complaint is that the recurrent motif of the technology not working properly, starting with the (admittedly funny) riff on the classic "This message will self-destruct in seconds", didn't seem to have anything to do with the Ghost Protocol stuff. I could understand their not having any backup buggering up their more gadget-reliant plans, but it seemed like everything suddenly decided to go on the fritz for no reason. Still, 9/10, and Brad Bird for Bond 26, with (hopefully) no Logan and no Craig.

The Pirates! In an Adventure With Scientists! Gloriously silly nonsense that's more enjoyable than the last three Pirates of the Caribbean movies combined, with a great voice cast that includes BRIAN BLESSED! as the Pirate King, and as a blink-and-you'll-miss-it gag on the Pirate of the Year application form. 8/10.

At first, CRITICS, go to hell!! Very very underrated film, indeed. I mean, what's the point of bashing this super-awesome movie?! Well, like I said, people forgot how to make action movies nowadays, or probably forgot what action films are. The Last Stand is probably the most awesome standalone action movie I've ever seen in years! The plot, the performance, the film direction, the effects, total utter proper action film! I personally rate this movie 9/10, it couldn't have been more awesome. Even the car chase at the end reminded me of Steve McQueen's The Hunter farm chase. Very identical. Well, it's Arnold, you gotta love it, if not, then you're a pussy! I think my next stop is going to be A Good Day To Die Hard, because I know that critics (who are under various drug effects) have misjudged it, I'm sure of it. But, I'm not gonna say more until I watch it myself. Cheers. :martini:

I Like statham, just saying Parker is a basic Statham action movie, the criminal with a Code of conduct fights for the principal of it.
Statham is a likeable guy on screen, everything he is in is usually better because of him kind of the way Connery could take crap movie and raise them above the b movie grade.
