The critically-acclaimed blockbuster got a big boost earlier this week when producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson were among nominees for the Producers Guild Award, alongside producers for such prestige films as "Lincoln" and "Zero Dark Thirty."

Bond films have historically received only a handful of Oscar nominations, most for technical categories or music, and the Producers Guild nod marked the first ever nomination from the influential Hollywood guild for a Bond film.

Remember how Judy Dench deserved a Oscar for Spyfall? I don't think she has chance not against the likes of Sally Fields, seems liek some of the awards talk was way over blown but we'll see tomorrow what it actually is nominated for here. How can the BAFTAs ignore Craig so blatantly!

BAFTA Nominations Announced: ‘Lincoln’ Leads Followed By ‘Les Mis’ & ‘Life Of Pi’

Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln leads the pack of nominees (see full list below) for the 65th EE BAFTA Film Awards which were announced this morning in London by Alice Eve and Jeremy Irvine. Lincoln scored ten nominations, though did not pick up a directing mention. Ang Lee’s Life Of Pi and Tom Hooper’s Les Misérables each got nine nods, but Hooper failed to make the directing category. Meanwhile, Skyfall, which is the highest-grossing film in UK history, was nominated eight times, yet was noted in the Best British Film category and not the overall Best Film group. The only picture to cross over those two groups was Les Misérables. Only Life Of Pi, Ben Affleck’s Argo and Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty have both Best Film and Best Director slots. The two Best Director candidates whose films were not mentioned in the Best Film group are Michael Haneke for Amour (although it did also land Foreign Film, Original Screenplay and Leading Actress nods) and Quentin Tarantino for Django Unchained, which also picked up nominations for Original Screenplay, Supporting Actor for Christoph Waltz and Editing.

It's funny how it's said that after 6 years we should move on. Yet it's been nearly 28 years since Roger Moore played Bond, and somehow it's perfectly fine to constantly complain about him until the end of time.

People come to this site because they're tired of being attacked by fanatics whenever they try to express their thoughts against Craig and the new direction on other Bond forums. The amount of hate towards the the people who don't conform to EON's way, as well as all the other garbage that occurs on various Bond forums is just ridiculous, and most of the people here just want to get away from that.

They lost me when one of them said DC brings "financial clout" to the series. The 007 brand and studio marketing brings financial clout to the series. No one goes to see any of the other films DC makes. All that nonsense too about people who don't like Craig obviously wanting a 60 year old Brosnan in Die Another Day 2. Lazy stuff. I can't take the forums there very seriously. Most of the posters always feel like they are about 15 and can't even use a caps lock half the time.

SEAN CONNERY could make a comeback at this year’s Oscars – as bosses try to get all six Bond stars on stage.

Sir Sean, 82, is retired from acting but bosses hope he will appear with current 007 Daniel Craig in a four-minute tribute to the films.

Last week, the televised tribute was announced and the other former 007s – Sir Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan – were invited to take part.

Sir Sean has shunned Bond reunions after a four-decade feud with film bosses over his pay and treatment.

But associates of the Scot say the Oscars offer is a “different proposition”.

He may also be joined by Adele, who would be making her first public performance in almost a year by singing her Bond theme hit Skyfall live on February 24.

“Sean’s relationship with the Oscars is good and we’re hoping he’ll appear.

“His issues with the Bond producers are not our business and we hope he will overlook that as we pay tribute to what he has done.

“It would be magnificent to see him up there with the other actors – and quite a coup.”

He added: “We’re very close to getting Adele to talk to us about a performance too. Until she is officially nominated this week for the best film song Oscar, we can’t invite her.”

Sir Sean earned just £2million for the Bond films and his image was used to promote the franchise in the 70s and 80s without him earning a penny.

I don't know MGW promised Connery show up to 50th events last year and he didn't. He may be ok with the Oscars but when the Oscars are promoting a family business he feels cheated him I don't know why they think he'll ignore all those bad feelings just to be on TV. Get the Bond producers to pay him a $40 million of whatever he feel they owe him and give him a lifetime achievement award. But he wouldn't come out of retirement for Spielberg and Lucas and he likes those guys.

I think this individual is realistic enough to be Bond than Hornswoggle, considering there are some physical requirement to be a spy, such height and weight.

I expected more in the bond film Skyfall , I hope the next film is more like "Goldeneye" or "The World is not Enouth" with more "missions" like the enemy of Bond in the film was ONE guy? What island is that? Please travel to Russian or exotic places this is BOND. And how about London. "The World is not Enouth" shows more london than Skyfall.
About the special effects I really expected more. Q gave only a Walter PPK to Bond? What a hell!!! Where is the new CAR? And the Watch? Don't CHANGE bond personality!
And dont change the headquarters to other places. It should keep at Mi6 SIS real headquarter (Vauxhall).

May be a tough year for awards better completion than usual last Oscar winner I liked was The Kings Speech the awards normally goes to a small fry movie we coudln't care less about..

My wife and i went to The Hobbit it was over $8.50 a ticket! Matinee prices!! I think we'd rather have seen Les Mis
