I'm not a big fan of the new John Gardner Bond covers.

Looks like a kid's cartoon. Clearly the art of book covers is dead or just about.

I agree. It looks like rubbish. Twaddle suitable for a Bratz adventure! The cover for the latest Bond novel is uninspired in my opinion. 'Devil May Care' was a rubbish book with a rubbish cover as well, years later come to find out that Sebastian the author thought Bond was rubbish as well. He ought to be working for EON.

A friend of mine mentioned that considering how EON has the rights to the John Gardner Bond books (and all the other non Fleming Bond books for that matter), it's odd that they haven't tried to adapt some of the stories into films.

I don't believe they do. As I remember it they were quite pointed about rejecting all of the books after Ian passed. Even Devil may care which Barbara and Daniel went out of their way to praise.

They may not be the best Bond covers, but they more appropriate than the US covers.

I've always wondered that too. Some of Gardener and Benson's books were great and so was Colonel Sun. I'd love to see that as a movie!

There was a rather unreliable rumour a while back about DMC being Bond 24. Let's hope that's not true.

In my opinion if EON have the rights to these stories they are wasting their chance to make some really good films. Most of Benson and Gardener's books are better than some of the "written for screen" Bond films *cough* Die Another Day *cough*, *cough* Quantum of Solace *cough*.
