I do like some of the Bond music not composed by John Barry such as ones you mentioned, as well as Live And Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me, and For Your Eyes Only. But to me, John Barry defined the James Bond sound that gave the series another distinctive quality. Barry's final score for the series, The Living Daylights, is one of the Bond soundtracks I frequently listen to. Ice Chase is one of my favourite tracks.

I was scanning my RSS reader when I saw the headline "Mangled wreck tells sad story of drink driving". Was it wrong to think "that sounds like the plot of the next Sam Mendes/Daniel Craig Bond movie?"

The facts are the facts. Bond 23 has ridiculously surpassed all box office sanity. This is what the minions identify as Bond. It boggles the mind why, but they have. Cr-egg will remain in the role for 6 more years, minimum. Eon no longer can produce a film every 2 years so DC is tied in for 6 years. The 7th Bond will occur in the NEXT decade at this rate, when the green vegetable is in her 60s and finally bored of her creation. She will latch onto another younger actor, be it Elba as the first non-white Bond, or any of the pets and weirdos FBF has deemed worthy of the then vacated role by DC. Enjoy other franchises from now on. It's delusional to consider any other alternative. Bond ended in 2002 as we knew it. The rest of civilization can have their decrepit choice as Bond. It's obvious they longed for the return of MP, Q, and a male M, but even that was done incorrectly. Broccoli has turned us off from this franchise........so let it be written...........so let it be done Until 2021, enjoy the rest of the great franchises being developed

Disappointing to me that the hobbit didn't make 100 million. According to bo Mojo return of the King was 95 million. Of course all the other lord of the rings movies opened a few days before Christmas

I suspect the poor reviews did for The Hobbit.

Dont know what to make of this 'Hobbit' film..........i mean i know it will make a huge amount of money....particularly at the beginning....but was surprised to see that it didnt open bigger than SF.
The comments on the film are either wonderful.......or that it is incredibly boring and slow.
I get the impression that LOTR fans will appreciate the film more, whilst others may find it tedious.
Anyway, i will know when i see the film.

SF still doing good business, and will pick up some decent money over the xmas period.

Anyone else noticed that the 'Twilight' film has faded big time now?

I cant remember where, but i was reading on the internet earlier a story about how the Bond franchise has pushed itself back into the limelight BO wise.......and that this could continue for the next few films!

That is my favourite track from TLD and quite possibly my favourite track of any Bond film.

I love how John Barry adds a modern electric sound, and still maintains the classic style of Bond music. He did the same with the A View To A Kill score as well. John Barry was pretty awesome like that.

It's Babs' world now, and it's a big waste of time to hope for the return of the traditional Bond.

SF............now has grossed over $951 mil worldwide, and obviously though the takings are much lower now, film could get closer to the BILLION mark by New Year, than originally expected, without the films release in China.

ie it doesnt now look that SF will need to be a mega hit in China to reach the big number!

I guess this proves the zombie pandemic unleashed by EON is worse than ever. Not even Gandalf is powerful enough even to stop it. Babs must be very full of herself right now.

The Hobbit making less than SF? You might as well send in Idris or an Asian actor as Bond. Or a freak/weirdo who can act. Anyone can be Bond regardless of race or appearance.

If I must say, 2012 is such a VERY, VERY, VERY BAD year. I guess the Mayans are right after all.
