Forget the tall, dark-haired traditional Bond. They have their turn 5 times already. Because DC has his "three-times-the-charm" Bond movie that makes history, you might as well go for ethnic actors, freaks/weirdos, robots, and pets as Bond. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

As hopeless as things seem right now, I still try to have some faith that classic Bond will return someday. Even though I'm constantly complaining and joking about the current state of the series, I just can't bring myself to abandoning Bond altogether, and I'm sure there are others here who feel the same way. In fact, that's why this site exists in the first place. Think about it, if the people here truly didn't care about Bond, we wouldn't bother to continuously express our thoughts against this current direction. Instead, we would just simply move on to other series that offer similar entertainment values. But most of us here love classic Bond so much, we continue to fight no matter how hostile we currently feel towards the series. This clip taken from Jon Tron's humorous review of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts nicely sums up how most of us here feel about James Bond: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa8NREI_IPs

But all joking aside, I think the true death of the series would be if the producers decided to remake the classic Bond films in their twisted vision. Right now, however, I consider James Bond to be in limbo.

I agree with you Saint. I try to remain optimistic. But I have a feeling it will be awhile before the real 007 returns. BB has to be taken out of the equation first.
Rest in Peace

If the world still needs classic Bond, first things first is sending the direct opposites as Bond, and you know what I'm talking about. If DC is a successful Bond, why everyone else (aside from the classic traditional actor)? As far as I'm concerned, I have no interest in watching newer Bonds from Babs when she casts a traditional Bond actor in the future. What's I'm saying is that the general public WILL NEVER separate DC from the 5 original Bond actors, and this is why that from now on, Bond will and must be played by ethnic actors, freaks/weirdos, robots, and pets. In fact, Babs is interested in bringing making Bond black. You know what? She should do as she wishes. And why not an Asian Bond? I stopped cared about the franchises' well-being for it has become a dangerous and deadly zombie on steroids.
But all joking aside, I think the true death of the series would be if the producers decided to remake the classic Bond films in their twisted vision. Right now, however, I consider James Bond to be in limbo.
Don't forget that EON may rehash some of the villains from the classic Bonds.

There has been certain scenes or other elements from some of the classic Bond films that's been rehashed in the Craig Bonds, FormerBondFan. Rehashing is one thing, but full remakes of the classics is a whole different story altogether.

I agree with you, bjamesobrad. Barbara is certainly the root of the problem, and things may not get better until she's out of the equation. Considering how long Michael Wilson has been with the series, he should really know better too. But then again, he's old and soon ready for retirement, so I suppose he no longer cares about the well-being of the series.

Barbara has never had good taste in Bond, Cubby cast Pierce over Barbara's choice of Sean Bean. I like Sean but he is not 007, great 006, so is Daniel.

And so does 007 Legends for that matter. But again, these are only video games. Sure, it's sort of a slap in the face to the former Bond actors and their fans, but It's nowhere near the level of horror as actual movie remakes. If Barbara ever decides to remake her father's work, then James Bond will truly be dead.

Barbara also can't handle her father's style of Bond. With GoldenEye, Albert Broccoli started to set the blueprint for the post-Cold War Bond. However, Barbara did not build upon this transition of Bond and the old formula for a new era all that well. So when Brosnan's contract was up, she gets rid of him, and begins to reinvent the series in her own vision. And I honestly think the reason why Barbara can still get away with what she's doing, is because of the fact her father made the series a pop-culture phenomenon all over the world. The James Bond name has a lot of power and recognition behind it thanks to Albert Broccoli, and because the series has been around for fifty years, it's going to take quite a bit to tarnish the image.

If that b1tch is still getting away with what she did, especially after way she dismissed Pierce, then consider that the traditional tall and dark-haired Bond actors have their time on-screen as the new age shall begin with ethnic actors, freaks/weirdos, robots, and pets as Bond.

I now hope SK-AWFUL grosses $2 million so DC can stay on for 20 more years, then be replaced when Broccoli is 72 years old and MGW is gumming porridge in a rest home, and then let Daniel Radcliffe be the 7th Bond in 2032. I want Cr-egg in Kate's delivery room the day she gives birth so the first thing the newborn sees is Cr-egg's lemon dropped face when it enters the world and the UK can all celebrate the event :!: "The Duchess of Cambridge will stay for at least a second day at King Edward VII Hospital for treatment of "hyperemesis gravidarum". The rare condition affects 2 percent of all pregnant mothers and causes severe nausea and vomiting. It often results in hospitalization because of concern over dehydration and the mother’s inability to get proper nutrition." Cr-egg gives a lot of former Bond fans on forums HYPEREMESIS DANIELCR-EGG-ARUM as well.

We truly live in an era where insanity reigns supreme. The mere fact that Skyfall is nominated to win a Best Picture award just shows how low the quality standards have fallen. From the title songs/soundtracks, the action/stunts, villains/henchmen, gadgets, girls, one-liners, film posters etc, the classic Bond films were superior in pretty much every way, in my opinion. But yet the Craig Bond films somehow manage to be considered as award worthy, when they lack all the qualities that made the classic Bond films so great. Unbelievable....

It hasn't been nominated for anything yet. Oscar noms are announced on January 10th, unless the Mayans were right. Indiewire.com in its Oscar predictions lists it as a "possible spoiler", but not among its top 10 predictions for a nomination. I think it's more likely to be nominated for Best Cinematography, given that Craig seems to have taken second billing to Roger Deakins.

I think Adele may have a chance, and maybe Dench and Bardem too for nominations.

Based on prevous history, I'd say Bardem's best shot at an Oscar is if he commits suicide between now and Jan 10.

Javier Boredom? Why Sweeney? His acting was nothing great. His villain was a weirdo bore. Compare that to Lincoln's lead actor. Dench? Her role was also a snoozefest. Her end was anticlimactic and quickly forgotten in the film as if t never occurred.

If the Academy gives Bond 23 even a nomination (major or especially technical), then Johnny Depp is right about us....that we Americans ARE SOOOOO stupid.
