Craig Era is a Reboot

Post by Jedi007 »

Although this tidbit I would share is an entry from an unofficial site, this at least provides a solid reference that would easily separate Craig's era from the Classical Bonds.

(Dench's M might be a carry-over from Brosnan era to Craig's but her character is totally different between each eras.)

In the original continuity, her name is Barbara Mawdsley, as said in the Goldeneye screenplay and Raymond Benson's novels.

Her first name in the Craig films continuity is Myra (as said by Silva) and is later mistaken as Emma by Kincade.

BOND sells, NOT CRAIG
The reboot is a risky area, did Eon need to do it? NO. Did this confuse alot of people? YES.
The Bond character will always be anchored in the values of the 60s

Favorite Bond Movie: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible, Kingsman: The Secret Service and The November Man or any upcoming actioners starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good since it will help him expand his reputation as an actor especially in the action realm)
Favorite Movies: Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Star Trek
The Dark Knight Trilogy
Harry Potter
Middle-Earth
The Matrix
Mission: Impossible

Where did the Myra name come from? :?

And I see no difference between Dench's M in the Brosnan films to the Craig films.

I don't see any difference between Dench's M in the Brosnan and Craig eras either. But there's no use in trying to make sense of all this continuity and whatnot, because your head will explode.

It's really ignorant how the producers can just disregard 20 films that span 40 years worth of cinematic history, for what I consider to be a pointless reboot. What's worse is that there's people who actually want the classic Bond films to be remade. That would be the true death of the series if that ever happened.

We are supposed to believe now that a female M preceded Bernard Lee''s role, with the origin story of Moneypenny being shown. Dench knew Bond for 4 films prior to DC. The past 3 films she first got to know him as a rookie. Bond knew MP for 20 films. NOW, he just met her :!: Bond has been an experienced agent for 20 years. NOW, he has gone from being a novice 00 to an over the hill thuggish agent in 3 films. Q was in 19 films with Bond. NOW, Bond is being introduced to Q as if he never knew him. :!:

This was done to the GE game and some others which were incorporated in 007 Legends.

She can't be the same M as in GE unless she was cryogenically frozen and brought back to life. Maybe the Brosnan M is Craig's M's sister?
Bring back Bond!

That is the point where I would give up on the future of the series.
