Mrs. Dr. No had this observation, it's going to be a sad movie. the thought never occurred to me and the song is very sad. I don't know if the song used represents the movies feel, its kind of two different worlds one team making the music on their own then adding it to the movie.

and 31 at Amazon.com, #1 at Amazon UK. It's a other side of the pond deal being driven by Adele fans right now. I doubt it will have much a life beyond Bond meaning the next few months, maybe the Oscars if 15 different songs from the Hobbit aren't nominated

What i want to know is who decides to pick the singer and song for a Bond film?.........is it the studio, or is it Eon.

Personally, if i ever met the person who picked the Jack White song for QOS, i would give them a lot of grief, considering there were far better and more appropriate songs written for that film.
Recent history the studio trys to pushing things. Even if they are MGW had a rare moment of honestly admitted they got stuck with Another Way to Day because there was no more time. Adele was the obvious choice this time

What a strange intro. Is using quasi gay themes popular today?

So it's 9/11's fault  Or is it they just secured the rights to CR? Which they had since 1999-2000.

We debunked this 9/11 stuff and so did they when they made DAD in 2002. It's more the Bourne Identity and Dana Broccoli dying in 2004.

At lease she defended the invisible car, what gets me is in 2006 she sent people out to trash Pierce and his movies. Now he was "a gentleman about it" and we "remain close" easy to call BS on the remain close she sent out crew to say Pierce perspires and Daniel Sweats, the musician crooning the theme was sent/allowed to trash Pierce, this didn't happen in vacuum. She was supposedly negotiating with Pierce to came back while she was trying to force Daniel in the role, one story among nearly a dozen "when Pierce found out he was fired" (usually on a movie set filming) one is Daniel approaching Pierce pretty much telling him he was fired, it also the one they say Pierce gave Daniel his blessing "to go for it".

She did admit the way they fired Pierce is unusual. That's something I suppose.

Oh well. Adele is a talent yet this song lacks any of the soul she puts in her songs. What can we say about it? 'It's an improvement over worse entries', decent without defining itself beyond the bare framework of what it's purposes is.

The green vegetable never confirmed Cr-egg will do the next 2 films. She just avoided it. FBF, read this review: "This song is fine, it will sound great in a cinema with CGI women and bullets floating across the opening credits, but it inevitably "pales in comparison" to the songs to which it pays homage. Meanwhile, Muse’s new album opens with a mad sci-fi rock and electronica romp, Supremacy, with a cheeky John Barry motif in it, that fans are already proclaiming as the greatest Bond anthem that never was. It does rather make Adele’s song sound timid. The new Bond films have a quality of boldness and vigour to them that her classy but overly predictable ballad just can’t quite match." By Neil McCormick, Music Critic 8:07AM BST 05 Oct 2012 Strike one against this film FBF........now the UK opening box office and reviews await us :!:

Huge fan of "The World is not Enough" never into Garbage, loved that song.

Oh, please! It is just sooo dull!
Brilliant analysis though!

You are correct: Skyfall is a place. It's the family estate of the Bond family. And it is where Bond's parents are buried.

My three word review: Rubbish and dull. Surely this could have been mixed up a little.

Did anyone notice that it uses the same chords as "Another Way To Die"? That piano progression at the start of the song, which is later used for the verses... And well, the brass just before the bridge also sounds similar to the tune from AWTD, although that's mostly a staple of the last handful of Bond theme songs, too, which White just added a few notes to...

I don't think 'This is the end, hold your breath and count to ten' is nonsensical at all. It sounds to me like a clear apocalyptic/end of the world reference, as in 'let the sky fall'.

I think its boring and predictable.

After just 1 day, Adele's song on YouTube has had 6,600,313 views........
And is reportedly No.1 in 50 countries.

I did say Skyfall would be huge at the BO, and right now I can still see these predictions being right.
