Just finished reading The Hobbit. Can't wait to see how faithful the movie is to the book! 8)

There has already been hints and suggestions that Skyfall is taking a few nods from Fleming's last novel, TMWTGG. Bardem is sporting the blonde barnet which ties in with Fleming's description of Scaramanga (from what I remember), and if there are a few bisexual nods too, this again ties in with Fleming's novel, which had homosexual undertones.
FBF, your thoughts on this matter? MP? Shaken? Dr. No? Ms. Bouvier? et al?

Great or not, who gives a F*** about Bond 23? Everything is preferable over Bond these days. Heck, I'll watch Twilight 4.5, and I must confess though that I find these vampires quite interesting.

"She isn't sleeping and she stays up all night crying," a source recently told Us Weekly of Stewart. "She's close to a total meltdown." FBF, Kristin Stewart's parents are divorcing and her relationship with Pattinson is a mess. You had better hope Twilight is not pushed back :!:

Having Harry Potter 6 pushed back from November 2008 to July 2009 was bad enough. We can't afford to lose one of our biggest allies (Twilight 4.5) to list of delays. But afterall, there's no point in pushing back the finale as 2013 is already full, and plus, it's finale, meaning fans will want to see it right away. I rather have Bond 23 pushed back to next year. That way EON can no longer use 2012 to their own advantage, but I don't know if it will help on our side.

Shouldn't these posts be in the Politics forum? I thought this thread was for posts that don't really fit anywhere else.

About the Fleming undertones, I respectfully disagree. The fact Bardem is blond has got nothing to do with Scaramanga, as he is NOT playing Scaramanga but a character that's got nothing to do with him. A random fact regarding the hair color of a villain in a story that's got nothing to do with Fleming won't make it Fleming-related IMO. Also, I do not think the homosexual undertones make it ANY more Fleming-esque either as those are tones that belong in a zillion different novels. And, again, the character Bardem plays has got nothing to do with Scaramanga. I find it a very forced comparison that the Craig spin doctors are trying to sell, in order to as usual protect their favorite. From what I've seen in the trailer, the movie looks exactly like QoS (and that's most certainly not a compliment). Except Craig looks even worse.

Craig looks by far the least Bondian in this movie than he ever has. And he was never remotely close, so this means we're basically just seeing a random spy character on screen as opposed to James Bond. Not that this is anything new at this point.

BJ, they are ALREADY doing the promo tour for Twilight, nothing is being pushed back. They already replaced Kristen Stewart with Ashley Greene for the tour and all is going to go according to schedule, they will just change HER schedule in order to avoid her facing the circus that surrounds this ridiculous thing.

Also, just my personal opinion, but I would definitely avoid politics in this thread as it doesn't belong here... if there's a politics thread that's where politics chatter belongs. If this is for all that doesn't have a specific thread, then definitely not politics seen as there is a thread for that.

We definitely don't need PO,I mean QOS, 2.0.

This thread has a tendency to go off on all sorts of tangents. Matter of fact, I'd say going off topic(especially on this thread) is encouraged. That's unusual for the boards I post on. :P

Oh, but we do need a Quantum Of Solace 2.0 if we want audiences to get tired of this direction and put an end to the Craig era faster.

even if these are legitimate Fleming touches its not something people are used to or wanted. Killing M, 19 year old Q, Moneypenny or not, Bond quitting, faking death, M did something bad in her past, homosexual villain who may not be a bad guy. Yep this sounds like fun.

No,yo're right on that one. I don't think I'm ready for the results should it fail. *sigh*. How sh!t does a movie have to be ? before people won't defend it? FFS, POS was CRAP and it had its defenders(at least initially, that is.)

The Bat's final round has surpassed his previous round's worldwide numbers. And I can't believe Andy's arachnid keep on bringing in more money.

Correct MP. Anything of interest or importance in a general discussion. For instance, would you return to Alaska?

Correct wise one. It makes no sense. How much did China throw out on this garbage? That is why our USA is now irrelevant FBF in box office totals. We are the icing on the cake, not the cake itself. If Bond 23 gets international numbers like Garfield did, call in Gold Dust as Bond from the WWE :!:

Say goodbye to the traditional Bond and send in the freaks even if Bond 23 makes more than CR by one bit. Every rebel here and elsewhere around the world will abide to this.

Distributor Warner Bros. said that of its estimated overseas weekend take of $46.4 million – from a total of 10,156 venues in 64 territories – the Batman sequel pulled a “rough estimate” of $28.5 million from Monday through Sunday from nearly 4,100 situations in China.
A Rises opening in Italy also generated $8.8 million (including previews) over six days at 836 situations, which Warners said is “already 70 percent of the entire (market) box office run” of 2008’s The Dark Knight. Total international box office for Rises is now $574 million.
Also opening in China was the weekend’s No. 2, Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man, the fourth title in the blockbuster series, which made its international debut on June 27.
Of its total $33.7 million take in its latest stanza at 7,125 sites in 59 markets, $33.3 million came from China over a seven-day period. That was more than 2007’s Spider-Man 3 grossed in its total China run, said Sony. Foreign cume for Amazing now stands at $475.3 million.

FBF, Bond 23 will have a hard time in our country topping these top 9 films in 2012: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/cha ... 012&p=.htm The problem is now all overseas. Do you have a contingency plan to deal with these overseas minions?
