Mendes brilliant statement: ''I didn't just say yes to doing a Bond movie, I said yes to doing a Bond movie with Daniel Craig. " This proves his sheer lunacy as a director. DC has bombed everywhere but still he is enabled by his Eon handlers. Eon and Pascal are doing everything possible to alienate fans from the franchise with their casting choices as well as the scripts and the poorly chosen directors. I am at the point I could care less if it ends now. This is not Bond.

BJ, you better hope Bond 23 is the next victim, both critically and financially. It may not end up like John Carter or Battleship like you said, but as long as it doesn't end up becoming the highest grossing Bond both worldwide and here in the US (even with rising ticket prices and IMAX), we're good. Also BJ, look at the Potter series again. Every sequel (even those in IMAX) except DH2 did not surpass SS's numbers both worldwide and here in the US. Just because a movie (with increase in ticket prices) is in 3D and/or IMAX doesn't mean it will beat its predecessors' numbers at the box office. Like you said, Andy's arachnid won't beat Tobey's, not even with ticket price increase, 3D, and IMAX. And you're right. Furthermore, none of the Tobey's sequels beat the original in the US (not even in IMAX), and the original remains the highest grosser of the Spidey franchise in the US.bjmdds wrote:DC has bombed everywhere but still he is enabled by his Eon handlers.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Spider-Man 3 did higher worldwide numbers than the first one. Unless Anna Karenina comes through opening weekend, there is nothing else to see. If Sweeney and EA and all of the other UKers here pan it, we can spread the word and let it go viral on the internet. FBF, you will be in charge of that mission, let's call it "ORDER 007", to let all know what junk is being spewed by Eon with Bond 23." Order 007 was one of a series of contingency orders that the anti-Eon troopers of the website DCINB were trained to prepare for during their growth on the internet. The order branded EON as traitors of the Cubby franchise and called for their immediate removal without question. Its issuing by FBF marked the formal beginning of the Great EON Purge, starting the rise of the anti-Cr-egg movement, and it was chief among the atrocities that led to the internet battle to save the Bond franchise from the evil green vegetable."FormerBondFan wrote:BJ, you better hope Bond 23 is the next victim, both critically and financially. Bjmdds: That pic is stupid, the actor's wrong, it's all wrong but this is what we've now come to expect (but not accept) of bond today, pc spouting, artsy fartsy, cross dressing, bourne badly mimicing franchise, q should always be an old man, having bond be older is out of place and makes it look like bond went back in some sort of time machine.
This film's smells worse then a smelly thing, that was named after smelly after being knighted the archbishop of smellington, course eon wouldn't recognise let alone know how to make a good bond film anymore since they're into the artsy fartsy crap, does anyone want to see a troubled bond f**k no, does anyone want to see a brooding, self loathing pouting miserable po faced gollum play bond again no, the consensus that loves these films clearly also love sparkling emo vampires who marry and have kids with a 16 year old girl and they're 200 years old ( I also call them pedopires so it seperates them from the real vampires).
As for what they're thinking they're idiots, idiots don't think, babs thinks with her hermones not her head.
Mendez only wanted to make a bond film when cregg came in hey? maybe he should be told that they're not really bond films anymore (then again I'm sure he enjoys working with pinky and perky and the other 3 stooges), if idiocy's an infection I say we quarantine and call it eon: emphasis on numpties, emphasis on nothing and ofc everything or nothing and it must be stated that nothing is really what they're really going for here and what they highly emphasise.

Good comparison Shaken.
I don't hate the actor but I don't know about this, it felt cliched,a bad place to go.
I'll reserve final judgement after a few clips of him but on teh face of it I do not like him as Major Boothroyd who is Q nd should be Q in a reboot.

Found some funny comments on there.
Great. Now Craig looks even more like a corpse.
There's Peter again.........
Commander Bond, this is the new Q. We hired him away from Future Shop.
A teeny bopper Q. Jesus f**king Christ.
Jesus, what a step down from John Cleese and Desmond Llewelyn
Just not feeling the Craig Bond movies ... Generations love the classics, can't see these being remembered in the same way.
Wishaw's finest role was Pingu in Nathan Barley
A "hip" Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory...
HE LOOKS LIKE THAT NEW PETER PARKER / SPIDER-MAN GUY
Is that the new Peter Parker? Because this guy looks as lame as that other guy
So, this is Tinker Tailor Soldier Bond ?
Whishaw looks like he should be playing Moneypenny.
Can't imagine this kid saying "DO pay attention 007!!!"
Q's supposed to be older.
Q as "Your Company's Computer Guy" or the "I'm a Mac" guy
Hipster!!

The downside is that Anna Karenina will have limited release, but still though, every bit of money counts.
I'm going to need help here. This isn't a one man's job. More Hollywood using past films to reboot or prequel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyywumlnhdw Let's dissect this. The main problem is that Oz existed in Dorothy's mind so how can you have a prequel about a dream? Franco as the Wizard? How do you all feel about this for 2013? Will you open your wallets for $15.00 by then to see it? It could be interesting to watch but Robert Downey jr. would have been a better choice I think. What say yee?

Oz was only a dreamland in the movie. I'm not all that curious about Oz maybe the sneak previews will be good.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
After 10 days of Spider-Man I, 2, and 3, the box office take was $223 million, $225 million, and $240 million in the USA, with no Imax and no 3-D. Garfideld's flick after 10 days has a total of $165 million in the USA, with 44% of that with 3-D and 10% with Imax, and higher ticket prices. It's evident that spending $230 million for a reboot was NOT the correct move.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Yeah, how many Oz books did L Frank Baum write? There were a ton of them, I seem to recall.Dr. No wrote:Oz was only a dreamland in the movie. I'm not all that curious about Oz maybe the sneak previews will be good.
