RT has it at 76% fresh, although I noticed some of the "positive" ones say stuff like "been-there-done-that ".
I'm not sure how RT vets their rotten and fresh ratings.
".. if you're not sick of superhero movies by now, this is a relatively decent one." certified fresh  _.//
There was one early review that quoted verbatim the PR line Sony had out a few weeks ago. Not saying Sony was behind it just the writer is lazy.

Last weekend Ted was a surprise did better than all the projections.

To bring Bond in to it Spiderman already has a sequel being planned and written where Bond always promises a new story then gets to work on it right before production begins. Not to say this movie or its sequel will be any good but it is interesting to see movie series with a plan behind them.

The Hollywood Reporter projected a six-day holiday "weekend" total of $125 million or more. Even with its reported $220 million budget, a debut like that would be strong for Sony's reboot.
$220 million for the reboot  Wasn't Spiderman 4 supposed to cost too much so Sony rebooted it? It another got to be close to $400 million dollar movie

One place said the demographics looks better than a few of the other movie because females under 25 were interested, where Bond get the older crowd and mostly male.

The Spiderman flick did 60% LESS than what The Avengers did at the midnight box office in the USA and children are home from school now so that is a POOR figure to start with. Once people sift through the amphibious stench of this film's Godzilla-like villain and it's creepy looking lead actor, they will NOT buy repeat tickets and it will tail off quickly. Females like this "Midsummer's Nightmare" as a lead role? Why?  He is horrible. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... C_2011.jpg This is "NOT" Spiderman. This "IS" Puck in a Midsummer Night's Dream for sure, or in a reboot of The Dead Poets Society, but a Midsummer Nightmare for Spiderman. He irks me as Spiderman ALMOST as much as Cr-egg irks me to be a Bond impersonator.

But better for this arachnid to gross more than Bond 23 than the other way around, especially here in the US.

BJ, you need to watch Ice Age 1-3 this week since you're not going to watch this arachnid anyway. Ice Age 4 is out next week, and it need your help to enter the top 10 both worldwide and here in the US, kicking Bond 23 out.

http://cdni.condenast.co.uk/320x480/a_c ... 20x480.jpg Where does the green one come up with this stuff, describing this one as the "sexiest, deadliest, Frenchiest (no such word) Bond girl of all time"? These lame attempts are quite pathetic already. Who was this scantily clad nobody before this film that suddenly is deemed this by Eon's head stalk? Ale, her wardrobe, ridiculous attire? "In an exclusive interview, the gun-toting, piano playing beauty shares all on Sam Mendes' new direction for Bond". Once again talk of Mendes' NEW direction for Bond. This affirms the failure of the once great franchise. MP, save your dough. Let EA and the Sweeney dole out the British pounds first. FBF, you won't be disappointed by the box office tally of this Freudian nuanced Bond film number 23. You can shelve your ideas of Seagal, The Blue Man Group, etc., for this film looks like an utter disaster with Mendes. Shaken, keep stirring that pot of discontent. Omega, sell your watch after this product placement gets wasted. I'm sure Eon loved this comment out of her mouth:"Berenice recently joked she did not think British actor Daniel was sexy before she met him because of how dull he comes across in interviews."

Speaking with Emirates 24|7, the rep said: “This region will be amongst the first to see ‘Skyfall’, which will release on a Friday time to coincide with the Eid Al Adha holiday on October 26.

“The movie releases simultaneously in the UK, with a November 9 release date for the US market and other corresponding dates in different countries.”

When quizzed about the fan following James Bond demands in this region, the rep said: “Historically, action films have always done well in the UAE, with ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’ recording the highest ever ticket admissions at 660,000.”

Without confirming whether the EON productions film could possibly beat the record of the Tom Cruise thriller – which was largely shot in Dubai – he did however state that the 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise should beat all previous records held by any 007 movie released here.

“We are quite positive that ‘Skyfall’ will do much better at the UAE box office than any of its predecessors here,” he said, adding: “Aside from the fact that the film is also being released in IMAX format, it is also the 50th anniversary year for James Bond and that in itself will be a crowd puller for fans.”

As long as Bond 23 doesn't break CR's worldwide record of $594 million and/or QOS' US record of $168 million, I'm happy.

Does he meant UAE? If he means worldwide and/or the US, I'm giving up in bringing back the traditional Bond.

And BJ, please tell me if you're going to see Ice Age 1-3 this week as a substitute for Spidey reboot. Ice Age 4 is out next week, and it only has that weekend to gain momentum before the Bat's final showdown. It will need me as well as you for it to enter the this year's top 10 both here and worldwide. Let's show that animated films rule over Bond 23. And don't say you're going to let me do all the fun.
