English Agent wrote:What do our North American friends know of the forthcoming 'Lone Ranger' film?...........It has been stated the film has a staggering $250 mil budget to its name. Industry analysts are worried film could BOMB bigtime!
What I've read from various sources:

The Lone Ranger originally had a proposed budget of $250 million. Walt Disney Co. canceled the project, saying that was too much. Negotiations ensued with Johnny Depp (playing Tonto) and the director. Changes made to cut budget to a mere $215 million. Filming started early this year. But Hollywood Reporter ran a story last week, the budget had expanded back to $250 million because it's behind schedule.

This situation had affected a proposed Man From UNCLE movie. When Lone Ranger was canceled, Depp expressed interest in playing Illya Kuryakin. Warner Bros. was intrigued, delaying consideration of actors recommended by Steven Soderbergh. When Lone Ranger was given a green light at the $215 million budget, Depp no longer was available for UNCLE and neither were Soderbergh's original choices. Soderbergh quit, that project went back into limbo.

Which is exactly why the avengers was a real breath of fresh air and we need more films like it, bloody gritty reboots, spiderman's now going under the same route & I used to be a fan of superman as a kid but where's his red pants gone, no offense to Caville but that pic doesn't leave much to the imagination (pukes) since there's no puke emoticon I used that, superman like that reminds Me of the epidode in friends when a cyclist goes into central perk and did the same thing.

Whos dumb idea was it to remove part of supermans suit and make him look like someone on a sex offenders list? , this is almost as bad as what schumacher did to batman and robins suits in batman forever.

They've altered Superman's costume in the comic books, also getting rid of the red trunks.

I'd don't know how they do not update his costume, at one point in history it was daring later on it became something school aged miscreants snigger at.

If Batman had come back with the 1930 circus tights it wouldn't fly, superman had to do something.

Looks more interesting than what they have shown us of "Bond" this time round.

If this works who knows maybe 2014 is a Bond spin off. 006 adventures anybody?

Worked for Lewis, Inspector Morse's old bagman.

Anybody else excited for the next series of Foyle?

Supie's and the Bat's costumes are now consist of armor plates, something similar to Chris' Bat.

Could the success of The Avengers already be having an effect? From Den of Geek:
As the July 20th release date of The Dark Knight Rises edges ever closer, the tone of the marketing has taken a subtle change. As you'll see in the brand new trailer unveiled by Nokia a short while ago, the emphasis has moved from the eerie silence and autumnal atmosphere of the earlier promos, and to a livelier pace which emphasises its action set-pieces. The trailer even concludes with a little joke or two – something entirely absent from the doom-laden advertising we've seen up until now.

Blofield: I get they wanted to change sups costume a bit, but why couldn't they just change his costume to black as it is now instead of removing his red pants, if that was done to batman as well that would be stupid, stupid as it sounds taking away sups trunks just looks wrong despite looking stupid wearing them that's how it should stay, what next throw away his cape, remove his insignia and boots, these are all trademarks of sups, even if I'm not a fan now I was as a kid and some things shouldn't change.

Fbf: wth's wrong with some film makers and comic writers today, why in gods name would superman aka the man of steel need armour, it defeats the whole point of his character ie he can take anything you throw at him with the exception of kryptonite, he can take everything his enemies throw at him and get a scratch if that, I understand batman the armour makes sense for him but not superman, it's like removing robocops armour and telling him to go out there and stop crime, these companies seem to have far too much money today and seem to go with any idea even if it's jaw droppingly stupid as this, I know things need a little update but this is going too far, there should be a good balance even if it still sticks to the original source material people enjoy familiarity, change too much and you have well james bond as it is now  & we don't need more babs ruining other franchises & turning them into a pretentious artsy fartsy arthouse flick with shakespeare thrown in on top.

They're making another Foyle's War series? Really? The whole concept of the show was about a detective in wartime. The last series took place after the war was over and was already "off" somehow. I can't imagine a series taking place in the late 40s or 50s not feeling terribly contrived, like one of those horrid TV reunion shows.

Superman is a fantasy character, and I think the filmmakers want to portray him realistically as though he is from another world. The Supie costume we know has become a little dated in this day and age. As for the comics, Supie's costume isn't the one that has been updated.

Image

If I must say, Supie's costume looks better here than in the movie. Again, it looks as though it has armor plates, similar to Chris' Bat.

Summit Entertainment will unleash a "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" teaser trailer bright and early at 8:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, which you can watch on MTV.com. You won't have to wait until Mr. Cullen's birthday to catch a first glimpse at the trailer, either, as Summit plans to release a 10-second sneak peek of the teaser on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. ET. FBF, the Jedi's return starts now and this is the first attack against the Bond 23 death star :!: The main slaughter occurs November 16th.

Hey guys, hope I'm not asking a lot but if you can please look at My animation and give your thoughts

I did this animation for a group called The Sacred Omega for people with aspergers sydrome, I shaped up My experiences and other friends I know with it and put it all in this animation to see what it's like living life with aspergers.

Shaken does nice animation work. Maybe the green vegetable at Eon could hire you to do some animation work for Bond 23 :!: I would LOVE to see your animated video of DC as Bond in "The Sky Is Falling And Who Even Cares Anymore?" You are a respected member of this forum too. Your animation was informative and evoked thought, which is the result you would want from such an endeavor.

Thanks guys, I put it up on newsgrounds, got one great review 5 out of 5 but 2 others gave it one star (not sure if a lot of people picked up on what it was about), some didn't understand it.

Yeah it's not easy having aspergers, that's why I'm not good around crowds, not that good with body language and people sometimes make fun of you and think something else completely and judge you, it's also the reason I haven't been accepted for a lot of jobs because some employers only look at that and think I don't want to take them on, I've got a great working track record and I'm achieving more things with each year, animation's My goal, I don't have the qualifications but I hope I can get taken in for in house training if it ever happens (fingers crossed) and doing this animation was a way to make a name for Myself, found this contact by luck at jobcentre work shop last year and he's really impressed with the animation, but I'm expecting some mixed responses, as long as it gets traffic it may turn into paid work if it goes well (fingers crossed).

I'll probably work on a anti dc bond animation sometime in the future, I'm still working on My rocket knight adventures fan film flash for konami ( & they're looking to submit that onto their fan spotlight page when it's done & they've already got My previous sample version of that animation).
