Apparently Abrams has full control of everything star trek now so don't expect a new trek tv series for a longtime ( lots of people have tried to make new trek series but he doesn't want it).James wrote:I'd rather have a new Star Trek television series than another of these rebooted films. My city, Bristol, was the only one to vote for a new elected mayor in a referendum, though Doncaster voted to keep its mayor. I voted no, mostly because the establishment (in the form of the local paper and George Osborne) told us to vote yes. I'm ornery like that.

Sad to hear about Adam Yauch. Junior Seau killed himself a few days ago. He's a local(Oceanside) boy and his house is within walking distance of where I live.

If Benedict is indeed Khan, I might not see the sequel in theaters. I understand that J.J. aims to target the wider audience, but using Khan as the next villain is a MISTAKE. Nobody can handle the role the way Ricardo did. Plus, Benedict doesn't look tanned enough to be one. And if Khan is indeed the villain, he will be the same age as he was in Space Seed episode so a younger Khan is out of the question. This is not right.shaken not stirred wrote:Apparently Abrams has full control of everything star trek now so don't expect a new trek tv series for a longtime ( lots of people have tried to make new trek series but he doesn't want it).James wrote:I'd rather have a new Star Trek television series than another of these rebooted films. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
It's now just a matter of time before CNN axes the pompous ass Piers Morgan. He has abysmal ratings and most hate him now on tv here in the USA. He is a clueless and pathetic liberal political hack for the White House and people have caught on to his lack of intelligence and his stupid interrogations of his guests. Good riddance soon to bad rubbish. Howard Stern will raise the ratings on America's Got NO Talent in 2 weeks replacing Morgan as a judge. Where did Cowell find this Morgan stooge?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
1. The Dark Knight Rises (July 20): No, this one doesn't have Heath Ledger's Joker. And yes, the first trailers and IMAX footage evoked some negative reactions (What's with Bane's voice? Why did Hines Ward get more screen time than Batman?). While some of those concerns were alleviated with the most recent trailer (Bane's voice has clearly been fixed), the only thing that really matters is that the previews make one of most compelling pitches in history: "From Christopher Nolan… the epic conclusion to the Dark Knight legend." Definitively stating that this is the end will make this a must-see attraction for basically anyone who has ever heard of Batman, and even if it doesn't top The Dark Knight's $533.3 million total, it will still be the highest-grossing movie of Summer 2012. Forecast: $500 million
2. The Avengers (May 4): For a while, The Avengers seemed like it would merely be Iron Man and friends, with the addition of 3D. Using the two Iron Man movies ($318.4 million and $312.4 million, respectively) as a baseline, that would translate to a final gross around $350 million for the superhero team-up. Recently, though, the anticipation for The Avengers has reached a fever pitch, and ecstatic reviews (93 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes), foreign dominance ($260.5 million through its first week) and an anemic April lineup all suggest that the movie is going to be much bigger than initially expected. A total north of $400 million seems like a foregone conclusion at this point. Forecast: $420 million
3. The Amazing Spider-Man (July 3): The decision to reboot Spider-Man only five years after Spider-Man 3 made over $336 million has generated plenty of skepticism over the past year. However, by bringing in strong young actors Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, and giving the movie a tone that seems different enough from Sam Raimi's series, The Amazing Spider-Man has so far successfully combatted this criticism. More importantly, though, the title character is the second-most-popular comic book character aside from Batman, and fans will be eager to see how he fares against The Lizard (who was never a villain in Raimi's movies). The original Spider-Man earned $403.7 million—even with 3D, The Amazing Spider-Man won't get close to that level, but it should still be one of the Summer's highest-grossing movies. Forecast: $300 million

I wouldn't go that far. The casting of the younger TOS crew was well done. As much as I am very upset with the new villain (if it is true), I would still want the sequel to do better than numbers Bond 23 (domestic-wise) even if it doesn't surpass the $200 million mark.bjmdds wrote:I am getting the distinct vibe FBF that you are soon to be a FSTF as well, correct?FormerBondFan wrote:If Benedict is indeed Khan, I might not see the sequel in theaters. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
http://www.tntdrama.com/series/dallas/ I will be watching this on cable channel TNT. I am a huge fan of the original series. Anyone else planning to try it? MP? Ale? No reboot here, just good ol' Texas storylines continued from where the series left off. I actually spoke to Larry Hagman about 8 years ago at a Chiller Theatre convention and he was VERY friendly and nice. There was talk of a Dallas movie with Travolta playing J R and Hagman gave me a look as if to say NO WAY will Travolta be able to play J R.
