House is only loosely based on Holmes-but you can definitely see the parallels. They play pretty fast and loose with the medical aspects of things, which is why doctors, nurses, etc. aren't fans of the show-it's not realistic enough.Apparently the real doctors aren't accounting for artistic licence -they do have several doctors making sure the show is as accurate as possible, but they're not going to get everything right.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046161/ This movie was on the "THIS" tv channel today, channel 11-3 on regular antenna tvs in NYC. I never heard of it but I took notice when it said the producer was Albert Broccoli. The directors and the writer will also be of interest. I had no time to watch the film. Did anyone ever see this and equate it's Bond chemistry from the producer, director and writer? This was one of Warwick Productions, British-lensed and not a little raggedy compared with slick Paramounts the star had lately given up. Ladd like others on top salary was fed up giving its bulk to US tax collectors and so grabbed opportunity to shelter income via movies done off-shore. Trouble was budgets stripped after above-line Ladd took his. Paratrooper was called The Red Beret to start, then The Big Jump. James Bond personnel to come was involved ... Albert Broccoli produced, Terence Young directed, and Richard Maibaum wrote. This would be one of several Ladd did on momentum from Shane. Paratrooper, Hell Below Zero, and The Black Knight all lacked Hollywood polish, a not bad thing now but disappointing to the actor's then-following. Paratrooper brought just $1.7 million in domestic rentals to a distributing Columbia, way down from just preceding Shane's seven million. Paratrooper represented the first film for producer Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli, better known as the man behind the long-running James Bond series.

The last we saw Danielle was rushing for a bathroom into a building. That about sums up this film......a royal flush.

I'm not sure if this is the new Hollywood trend now...cloaking the filming in secrecy.....

Dark Knight Rises seems to be doing a similar thing too.

Yes well Batman doesn't really need to work hard to sell itself plus the fans already know the kind of story they are doing. They have done some things but the leaks from set say more because everyone is in costume and every set piece says something to the fans. What do the pictures of SF say about it? Not a hell of lot I don't think that helps after a Bond movie that sucked so hard it is on everyone's worst ever list.
Star Trek 2 is kind of doing the same thing but again fans Know what kind of story they are getting. Bond with Crag , Bond this director could be anything. With Logan it could be Hugo with Craig as the orphan Bond.

DKR is the follow-up to a billion dollar grossing, highly acclaimed movie that is popular with both critics and fans. Skyfall, on the other hand....

Um first pic of Tonto in the new Lone Ranger movie, um they need to be careful with the Indian makeup. I don't remember what tribe(s) this make up is from but it reminds me of something that I think is spiritually important to the native Americans, no good will come of this if they are using ghost dancer or other rituals for a stupid movie.

The other sadstory in the news is Putin reelected dictator for life of Russia arrested a girl punk band for playing a song mocking Putin, he is going to throw the book at 2 of the band members sending them away for 7 years. And Obama calls to congratulate this guy?

It's back after they got the budget down to $215 million, they started filming last month. I guess the flop that will be John Carter did not scare Disney off.
At the movie forums nobody has a good reaction to this first photo guess they have that in common with Bond too.

Speaking of you know one thing the Dark Knight rises has in common with Spyfall is spyfall may be trying the same story trick of setting itself many years after the last movie. But as I was saying we know a lot about what kind of story Dark knight rises will be they told us up front. They many not be putting up all kinds of fun stuff like the hobbit people are but they have done some things to wet appetites.

The USA news media is now controlled by the White House so Oh-bama is in line with Putin. This Lone Ranger idea again looks like pure

This week Ale's The Voice (18-49 leader: "The Voice" (6.3) won big again over Idol : American Idol was down 11% from last week's two-hour episode to a 4.8 adults 18-49 rating. Person Of Interest is hitting new highs as Idol falls by the wayside.

He looks like one of the band members from kiss or an extra in beetle juice  , no offense to the actor I used to watch a bit of lone ranger when I was a kid and the indian tribe didn't have that much makeup on their face, again he doesn't look identifiable as a member from an indian tribe there when he looks more like a goth (or kiss member etc), he looks more like a rockstar who's about to get out the electric guitar and crank out a song or play some drums and the lone ranger looks a bit like Seth Rogan in the green hornet..how did he get here?.

Film should've stayed canned.

John Carter:
Domestic Total as of Mar. 9, 2012: $9,818,000 (Estimate)
Distributor: Buena Vista Release Date: March 9, 2012
Genre: Sci-Fi Adventure Runtime: 2 hrs. 12 min.
MPAA Rating: PG-13 Production Budget: $250 million A NYC movie critic called this a $250 million dollar pile of rubbish. It got slaughtered at the box office. Disney is in real trouble here......real trouble. The trailer looked moronic when I saw MI:4 and no one thought this was going anywhere. "On Friday, at least, John Carter failed to overcome an awful marketing effort and barely took first place ahead of last weekend's winner The Lorax. Silent House and A Thousand Words were also disappointing, and it looks like this could be the first weekend of 2012 to see a year-over-year decline. Disney's mega-budget sci-fi spectacle John Carter opened to a middling $9.82 million on Friday, which is lower than almost all recent comparable movies. Its debut was a mere fraction of past March hits 300 ($28.1 million) and Watchmen ($24.5 million), and was also notably off from mid-range genre movies Battle: Los Angeles ($13.4 million) and 10,000 B.C. ($12.5 million). Compared to recent big-budget Disney movies, John Carter's opening was about half that of Tron Legacy ($17.5 million) and even a tad lower than Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time ($10.2 million). Since it's only one day in, and there are rumblings of strong international numbers coming out of Russia and East Asia, it's premature to write John Carter's obituary. However, it now looks poised to finish the weekend with less than $30 million, which is a truly terrible start for any heavily-marketed sci-fi movie, much less one that cost a reported $250 million."

IIRC wasn't the release date of John Carter pushed back a couple of times? That's never a good thing.

I don't think Disney ever set a 2011 release date (they finished filming in 2010), however they did move it forward from June to March, Prometheus was too great a threat . It made about $100 million so far I doubt Disney will get their money back. Generally speaking it would need to make 700m to justify a sequel.

It does hold the record for longest time in development hell, 80 years. 2012 is the 100 anniversary of the character I doubt that had anything to do with the delay in releasing it.
