No, but I watched Steven Moffat's Sherlock season 2 episode 1 on TV last night. d**n, that was good. If Moffat's Tintin script had been that good, the film would have grossed $1 billion easily.FormerBondFan wrote:Anyone besides me seen Sherlock Holmes 2?

I could talk about Sherlock 2 now, but given that no one here has yet to see it, I will not spoil anything.

Might as well spoil it. I don't think anyone here cares much.
I think it was better then Sherlock 1 but not as good as MI 4

Local Hero's a good one. Night Of The Comet was on cable last night.Great movie from the 80's about two sisters who have to fend for themselves after a comet hits the earth and kills most everyone.

Watched Star Wars Episode I in 3D. I loved it when I first watched it in VHS 12 year ago, and I still do today. Sure it may not be best movie ever, but it's still escapism compare to DC's Bonds.

We bought Johnny English 2 on dvd
its a mixed bag the kids loved almost all of it we (the adults) felt it lacked a coherency several times (Maybe the kids are right maybe it was aimed at the kids). So glad Pierce was not in this movie it would be a bridge too far in lampooning his onw legacy.,
One thing I think it seriously lampooned the serious tone set in CR and in fact I think it spent a lot of time lampooning CR, shots to the crotch, dead on a bleeping monitor, everyone cheering for him to be revived, poisoned by a drink, running around chasing a monkey at a construction site. Several more points where I think it took time to mock the rebooted series. THe M person / Boss saying she cleaned up Mi7 could be Dench.
There are a few times where they obvious mocked the old Mooreish sexual predator Bond. Pierce as the bad guy would be to mcuh.
Where was Bob (Bov?) the sidekick from the first movie? the young balck man was a nice sidekick but Bob should be there in some manner.
A good slapstick movie even if parts of it didn't make sense to me. English should have recognize the bad guy and the rest of it should followed the Johnny English 1 where his team tried to prove it against the odds. The cleaning woman mistaken for the granny / queen gag should have been done only once. Honestly I would trust these people to make a proper Bond film they had so much of the fee right, they introduced a likable Q who got a long with English like Q and Bond used to. The leading women were pretty good, were it missed IMO was where they went off to do the extra comedy gags where if they were main a proper Bond movie they woudl not go of course. It also had good locations. I looked it up it only cost $45 million I think they used the money well overall.

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.

Bough was the sidekick from the first movie. Not sure why he wasn't in it, maybe Ben Miller had other commitments.

We watched Hugo last night. Slightly depressing movie it does have a sweet ending a long way to get there and a lot of sadness in between.
It was really a movie about the film industry and trying to recapture the lost magic movies used to have.

Real Steel, Hugh Jackman as the worst kind of dead beat dad forced to spend time with his son over the summer. A real sweet story about a boy and his robot eventually redeeming the father as a human being.
Surprised we like as much as we do.

Watched Kelly's Heroes again on TV for the first time in years. It was as much fun as I remembered it.

The Picture of Dorian Gray. No, not that vulgar piece of ... produced in 2009. I mean a British adaptation of 1945
