I recall Daniel about 6 or 9 months before he was 'announced' went around pricing CR first editions, it was in the same neighbourhood. Although they might have been trying to get one over on him.

In times of recession, who in their right mind could shell out £28k for a book. You could buy a decent 2nd hand Aston Martin for that!

That's out of most peoples' price range. I would hope it's in mint condition.If that's not the case,I could see how anyone-even someone who has that kind of coin-would give it a miss.

Oh yeah, I've seen the stories about first editions selling for ridiculous amounts of money.Not a book collector(and I love to read) but never have understood the appeal.
