I think you really missed the point here. What I'm saying is that you may as well hire Carrot Top as Bond if the Academy is stupid enough to give Bond 23 even a single Oscar nomination in the technical category. DC's Bonds and Oscars DO NOT mixed and WILL NEVER be. FYEO was the last Bond movie to get nominated by the Oscars, and let's just keep it that way until DC leaves. Any DC Bonds getting nominated by the Oscar (even in the technical category) is insult not only to Pierce (especially when he was screwed up by EON with those cheesy scripts and you got those minions blaming him, thinking it's his fault) as the modern Bond but also the entire pop culture. It would be like general American public accepting DC as Bond, and that he's popular. Plus, it's like placing DC's Bond in the same territory as Darth Vader and Homer Simpson, making him a pop culture icon. DC's Bond IS and WILL NEVER be an popular culture icon. You should be glad neither CR and QOS got any Oscar nominations, not even in the technical category. And BJ, you know what I'm talking about, right?Kristatos wrote:http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_Oscars_h ... movies_won

Re: ‘Bond 23’ Film Restructured to Be Oscar Friendly?
FBF, you were AHEAD of ALL on the internet chat rooms on Bond's future with this Oscar award concept. You are a true visionary. Well done
Having a Cr-egg film win any award other than a Razzie would be proof positive that the Hollywood actors guild is a clueless crop of losers. It is all falling into place now. The artistically challenged green vegetable wants her day on the stage at the Academy Awards and she has been pushing her rubbish, film by film, and it will both culminate and end her morbid vacuous reign as the head of Eon after Mendes buries it at the box office. After all, does a podiatrist work on teeth? Does a vet work on humans(unless it's DC)? Does broccoli go with french fries? Do you mix peanut butter with maple syrup? Do you throw kerosene into a fire? Did Nash ever belong here? Do you make Moneypenny a man and call him 'pocket change'? So why would EON ever select Mendes to direct an action packed movie thriller of the greatest spy franchise in the history of the motion picture industry when he has ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO experience doing that? Could it be the missing puzzle to the green vegetable's ego, an Oscar award at the expense of her father's historic work? FBF knew it. Carrot Top, Roseann Barr, Chlorice Leachman, etc. could play Bond at that point for the damage will have been done. It will take the ousting of Barbara to undo the "killing curse" she has placed on the franchise and Jackman would be the "resurrection stone" to restore it to it's proper greatness, as is Harry Potter's franchise.

DC appearing in magazine covers. Anything that is DC mentioned shown in public. All that due to him being Bond. That should tell you that these people are under the Imperius Curse. Let me show you another example of people being under the Imperius Curse:

Do you see why Bond 23 must CRASH and BURN, especially here in the US.
And take a look at this picture below. This represents the day Pierce was being horribly dismissed from Bond, leaving him with no classic Bond aside from GoldenEye.

If Bond 23 beats CR's and QOS' numbers at the box office (especially here in the US) and/or receive even a single nomination from the Oscars in the technical category, there won't be a ROTJ victory. The Emperor/Darth Sidious and his Galactic Empire win. Luke Skywalker dies or fell to the Dark Side of the Force. The Rebellion got pinned down to submission. We wouldn't want that, would we BJ?

The basic is that you need to make at least 3x the budget at the box office for the movie to break even, so if this person talking knows ANYTHING about budget (which is not a given) they are assuming the cost of the movie is £100 mln. Which is probably accurate, as it means $160 mln which is what we've heard about the production cost.Goldeneye wrote:Some recycled news I'd count as a rumor for now.
Depressing Bond newsMENDES WANTS AN OSCAR: NEW BOND TO BE PERFORMANCE PIECE, LIGHT ON ACTION
Cubby Broccoli, the originator of the Bond franchise, must be rolling over in his grave.
Rumours are growing that new British director Sam Mendes is planning to ditch a host of stunts and action scenes from his first Bond film.
Insiders say the new film, expected to be called Skyfall, will be very different in tone as Mendes instead aims for “characterful performances” that will put his creation in the running for Oscar nominations.
That could put a lot of pressure on Daniel Craig, who will be making his third appearance as the British secret agent It will also provide a big opportunity for the 43-year-old who has said that he wanted to bring more “emotional depth” to the role.
This is what happens when you hire an “artiste” instead of a journeyman action director like Martin Campbell, who brought us “Goldeneye” and “Casino Royale.” First Marc Forster, an otherwise respectable director who nonetheless had never been near an action film, is allowed to ruin “Quantum of Solace,” and now the director of “American Beauty” is going to make a James Bond flick a “performance piece.”
What in the world is going on here?
Part of the problem is obviously Craig, who can’t bring himself to embrace the role for what it is.

‘Bond 23’ Film Restructured to Be Oscar Friendly?
James Bond will face its greatest challenge in his spy career—be a worthy Oscar contender next year.
British news site Express has reported Bond director Sam Mendes is paring down the stunt and action scenes to make way for more dramatic acting to make it more award-worthy.
“There are growing rumors Sam Mendes is cutting out the action scenes and making it Oscar-friendly,” an unnamed source told Express.
The site also reported that insiders claimed that “action scenes in India have all been axed” and scenes from Istanbul and Duntrune Castle in Aryll are “still there for the moment.”
James Bond will be facing a villain played by Javier Bardem, who won a supporting actor award in “No Country for Old Men.” And two-time Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes is rumored to play Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Fiennes was nominated for his role in “The English Patient,” and Schindler’s List.”
However, these rumored changes also have its critics.
“This could be a disaster in terms of sales at the box office,” a source told Express. “Given that this 007 needs to make at last £300 million to break even, it may be a very high price to pay for an Oscar nomination.”
It’s no surprised that the Daniel Craig’s James Bond will focus more on plot and character development. Don’t fret, James Bonds fans. I’m sure they will keep the action sequences that all of us Bond fans love. Let’s file this as another James Bond Internet rumor for now

Re: ‘Bond 23’ Film Restructured to Be Oscar Friendly?
Mendes apparently wants his film to be more emotion-centric, combined with “characterful performances”, which will make his film a strong nominee for Oscars.
