No, the end of Craig is when nobody goes to see Bond 23, it doesn't matter how his other films perform. That would be like FOX firing Hugh Jackman in the Wolverine role because of the performance of his other flicks. No. As long as the Bond/Wolverine films perform decently at the box office Craig and Jackman will keep their roles regardless of their limited star power outside the roles.Kristatos wrote:let's not kid ourselves that his name alone is a box office draw.

BJ my dear, I am indeed, which is why I have zero time to post! My money is on Djokovic. But, there are a couple of others (Murray or one of the Americans, depending on their physical condition) that may be contenders, too.bjmdds wrote:Ale sweetie, are you following the US tennis open in NYC as you did at Wimbledon? Oh no I LOVE Roger Federer and his tennis, I just don't think he stands a chance to win anymore, sadly. He's been the king for years but now he's declining. Nadal simply cannot compete with Djokovic right now. Especially not on synthetic surface. On clay, different matter. But on this surface, Djokovic really is the one who has the strongest chance. I did indeed meet him and he is an EXTREMELY nice, and very funny chap!bjmdds wrote:Federer and Nadal not your current tennis cup of tea? Shooting has moved back to "February and March next year"
The India Ministry is pushing back some, they claim there never was any issue and they granted permission, however it seems the team in India Eon or MGM hired were not getting approval for all of their filming locations.
The old market and flea market the ministry will allow to be used sound like it will be more problematic than necessary.
I wonder at this point how serious EOn is, it is almost as if they are looking for a reason to move locations, or possibly delay production.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Supposedly they were to go there in January to film so that's one to two months later. Not surprised, given there is still ZERO casting news and they're supposed to start filming in a freaking MONTH. (Clearly not happening, unless well only Craig and Dench film, so that's totally possible then LOL). I don't even know what to think, it sounds to me like as usual EON is making a big mess of it while others are trying to keep things running.

How effective can Eon's secrecy be this day and age? Nobody out there has any idea of the EXACT cast and yet the film is "progressing" at a "digressive" pace!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
In the book Carte Blanche, Bond starts his assignment on the outskirts of Novi Sad in Serbia where an Irish sapper-turned-enforcer named Niall Dunne is planning to derail a train carrying three hundred kilograms of methyl isocyanate, dumping it into the Danube. Bond is able to prevent the catastrophe by derailing the train himself at a much safer place along the line. He is unable to detain Dunne, who kills Bond's Serbian contacts in the course of his escape.
Read more: http://www.worstpreviews.com/headline.p ... z1WpIHoLeB The “Carte Blanche” Wiki synopsis also reveals that Niall Dunne is the “trusted confidante” of Severan Hydt, the Dutch-born owner of an organization called Green Way International, which is responsible for waste disposal. It is also mentioned that Hydt is a very twisted character, whose obsession with death “borders on sexual fetishisation,” and that Bond eventually travels to South Africa, in order to infiltrate Hydt’s operations there.
So, let’s examine how these plot and character details seem to gel with what we already know about Bond 23:
It’s been officially revealed that Bond 23 is partially being shot in South Africa.
It’s all but official now that Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem are both playing villains in the film.
We’ve long suspected that one of the bad guys in Bond 23 would be a pretty nasty fellow, given how all the actors (Bardem, Fiennes, Anthony Hopkins, and Kevin Spacey) that were reportedly being considered to portray one of the film’s antagonists have previously portrayed memorably sinister serial killers – ones who are both brilliant, but undeniably warped.
Quantum of Solace also dealt with an “environmentalist” in the form of Dominic Greene, who was actually a member of the shady Quantum organization introduced in Casino Royale.
Carte Blanche is thought of as “Bond 2.0″ – i.e., a modernized take on the character, a la Daniel Craig’s Bond. {If this is what Mendes believes fans want(waste disposal and sexual fetishes in South Africa), scrap the film and move on and fire Eon already. This sounds like utter 21st century Bond trash. Where are the gadgets, the escapism, the outlandish inventions, the beautiful locals, and the FUN?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
According to Martin Campbell, however, Cavill was the only actor in serious contention for the role. But being only 22 years old at the time, he was considered too young.
In May 2005, Daniel Craig announced that Sony and MGM and producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli had assured him that he would get the role of Bond, but Eon Productions at that point had not yet approached him. Later, Craig stated that the producers had indeed offered him the role, but he had declined until a script was available for him to read.
Bolstered by the success of Universal Pictures' rival Jason Bourne franchise (as well as Warner Bros.’ reboot of the Batman franchise with Batman Begins), the decision was made at MGM and Eon to "bring Bond back to his roots" by eliminating the increasingly silly gadgets and outlandish fantasy elements that had begun to define the series, and introducing a tougher, darker, and more realistic Bond that was more in line with the Bond of Ian Fleming's original novels than with any of his previous screen incarnations. Thus, the 21st Bond film, Casino Royale (2006), in addition to being the first film adaptation of a Fleming novel since 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service, was to be a reboot of the franchise, establishing a new timeline and narrative framework not meant to precede any previous film. This not only freed the Bond franchise from more than forty years of continuity, but allowed the film to show a less experienced and more vulnerable Bond. As with the previous introductions of new Bonds, the film provided the opportunity to remove production excesses and to get back to basics.
By August 2005, speculation was high that the then 37-year-old Daniel Craig was being seriously considered, although full casting for the role was not actually done until September. Then, on 14 October 2005, Eon Productions and Sony Pictures Entertainment confirmed to the public at a press conference in London that Daniel Craig, who would soon become one of the stars of Steven Spielberg's Munich, would be the sixth actor to portray James Bond. Significant controversy followed the decision, as it was doubted if the producers had made the right choice. Throughout the entire production, period Internet campaigns such as danielcraigisnotbond.com expressed their dissatisfaction and threatened to boycott the film in protest. Craig, unlike previous actors, was not considered by the protesters to fit the tall, dark, handsome and charismatic image of Bond to which viewers had been accustomed.........that's how this place all began.....
