All we need to know....Sam Mendes take on Bond is exactly the same as Daniel's.By Daily Express Reporter
DANIEL Craig has revealed that he thought the latest Bond film would never be made and he would be too old to reprise the role.
The 43-year-old actor explained that after work was suspended on Bond 23 in April 2010 due to financial trouble he was worried he would never utter the words, “The name’s Bond, James Bond” again. Luckily a rescue deal was confirmed and work on the latest Bond will begin again later this year.
Daniel told Esquire magazine: “If we couldn’t get the film made it would be ridiculous because we’d made all this money and it was a good bet. They were just in a very complicated financial situation but there was nothing [the film-makers] could do. Either it was going to sort itself out or I was going to get too old and that would be the end of it. I was desperate to have another crack at it. I think I would have felt disappointed eventually.”
The film, out in cinemas in October 2012, is directed by Sam Mendes, whom the 007 actor admires. “Sam Mendes is a Bond fan through and through. He’s read every book. So his take is very similar to mine in the sense that we want to get something that excites us and turns us on and hopefully turns everybody else on.”
Craig’s only problem is convincing people he isn’t actually the famous spy: “I’m just me. I’m not Bond. I do not carry a gun. Honest.” That’s exactly what a spy would say…

Another phrase to describe the Bond franchise comes to mind but it's too rude.

OK, who wants to be the one to break it to him...?Blowfeld wrote:DANIEL Craig has revealed that he thought the latest Bond film would never be made and he would be too old to reprise the role.

I will go. I have a way with old folks/Kristatos wrote:OK, who wants to be the one to break it to him...?Blowfeld wrote:DANIEL Craig has revealed that he thought the latest Bond film would never be made and he would be too old to reprise the role.
I don't believe a word of it to begin wiht but the question the bugs me is why did Pierce not go half a chance to do his Bond in this way. Craig believes he knows bond but I know Bond was nowhere to be found in CR. Not the book and not the movies saying mendes is right on becuase he agrees with Criag's spy version of Bond does not inspire confidence. .“Sam Mendes is a Bond fan through and through. Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.

I know you guys don't like Craig, but surely you find this part encouraging - `Sam Mendes is a Bond fan through and through. He’s read every book.'

When I saw the title my fist thought was well good, he can't wait for the re-cast either!
Daniel Craig can't wait for Bond
Daniel Craig is highly excited to be returning to his James Bond role.
The British actor is set to reprise the iconic agent alongside Dame Judi Dench as M in the upcoming Bond 23.
"I'm looking forward to the next James Bond. I'm excited to get back into the suit," he said.
The next spy instalment in the franchise will be directed by Sam Mendes, whom Daniel previously worked with on Road To Perdition.
"We're ready to go; we've got a script and start shooting in November," he said, but remained tight-lipped when questioned further.
Following his starring role in Cowboys And Aliens opposite Harrison Ford, Daniel's next big screen outing is in the Hollywood remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, directed by David Fincher.
"From what I've seen, it looks amazing," he continued.
"I'm just thrilled that Sony have given us the chance to make this movie. It's not going to be dumbed down in any way, because we're trying to appeal to a wider audience. It's for adults, therefore we've been able to make the movie that we wanted to make. It's like a very expensive independent movie."
According to Daniel, working with director David has been a dream come true: "I think Fincher's one of the best directors around and I enjoyed every second of working with him."

Re: Daniel Craig relieved Bond is back
Problem is what Mendes and people around him have said he wants to do with Bond, Morgan the writer who left was utterly convinced Sam Mendes would not be making anything that resembled a real Bond film. Which is pretty much up Daniel's ally, QOS is what his Bond his about I don't see who they walk back all of the utter trip that made up the Bond character in the last two movies to be able to say oh goody here is Bond now. 007 under Daniel Craig became a footballer / part time bouncer in a suit. It is a fantastic divide from Ian Fleming's 007 and the Sean Connery's (the archetype for used until 2002).mcbride007 wrote:It is always said that directors, stars stc "are big fans of the books and series".The Sweeney wrote:I know you guys don't like Craig, but surely you find this part encouraging - `Sam Mendes is a Bond fan through and through.
