Michael Fassbender Addresses James Bond Casting Suggestions!
His early portrayal of Magneto has been compared by reviewers as being inspired by James Bond, and now the X-Men: First Class actor responds to the suggestions he don the tuxedo after Daniel Craig departs...
Set visits and reviews for X-Men: First Class have all seemingly had one thing in common. And that is the comparison to Michael Fassbender's early portrayal of Erik Lensehrr to that of James Bond. Well, Screen Rant have now posted an excerpt from the movies press conference (which took place in New York earlier today) in which the Irish actor finally addresses the suggestions and speculation that he should play 007.Screen Rant: There’s a lot of Sean Connery-style James Bond stuff going on in First Class and you seem very at home in that role. Once Daniel Craig’s tenure as Bond is over, would you be interested in taking over for him?
Lucas Till (the actor who plays Havoc): Yes, he would!
(Laughter from the cast)
Michael Fassbender: You know … I don’t know. I really don’t plan anything ever because it never seems to work. I’m just [like] – let’s just get this film out and see how this one does. And I’m sort of in the middle of doing [Ridley Scott’s Prometheus]. And, you know, Daniel [Craig] is doing a great job. We’ll see what happens. I’m very flattered that people are sort of making that link, but – I don’t know. We’ll see.

Nope. I've already stated my objection to Fassbender many times and I'll leave it at that.

He dosen't strike me as Bond. Then I don't know him from any movies either. They could do worse i guess.

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.

I prefer the 7th Bond actor to be born in the '80s like Henry, for example.

Michael is only 34, not a bad age althou a younger actor would be a good addition looking to the future. However it is almost impossible to tell how well a young actor will age, Pierce, Timothy aged well, Sean and Roger aged rather rapidly, Sean at any rate.. George I am not so familiar with his career to say how well he aged.

I'd like to see him in X-Men: First Class before giving my opinion. A lot of people have been saying he is very Bond-like in that film, but then a lot of people said Tom Hardy was very Bond-like in Inception, which I didn't see at all. Judging by that photo, he has the look.

Jeffrey Deaver's Bond is born in the '80s so the next cinematic Bond should follow the same pattern.Blowfeld wrote:Michael is only 34, not a bad age althou a younger actor would be a good addition looking to the future. Re: Michael Fassbender Addresses James Bond Casting Suggesti
Good Lord. NOT AGAIN with Fassbender. A) that is not his hair color B)that is an EXTREMELY flattering photo of him.
This is what he actually looks like:
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm473348352/nm1055413
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4121082624/nm1055413
And these first two are GOOD photos. Remind you of anyone? Yeah, I thought so.
This is his ACTUAL hair color (and you can tell it's his actual color by the beard growing, even in the Xmen photo.. it's red)
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm716538624/nm1055413
Are you SERIOUSLY even for a second telling me this dude should ever be considered? NO.FREAKING.WAY.
This is what he looks like normally. He has GINGER hair for God's sakes. And he doesn't look like Bond... AT ALL. He's another Daniel Craig. Looks WAY older than his age. Hell no. I want an ACTUAL suave, HANDSOME, classy guy as Bond. I've really had enough of this, all steadily promoted by the Craigster's fans. Seriously. No way, no how. He's not NEARLY handsome or sexy enough to be Bond. Not to mention classy. The end. I pretend to have someone who actually looks 100% like Bond and has style and class the next time around. The way Bond is supposed to be. I swear if they so much as CONSIDER this dude, I will be done with the franchise forever. And I'm quite sure I won't be the only one. Luckily he's VERY busy with a lot of other things, and he was diplomatic in his answer but it was pretty much "can't do it".
The man in my avatar is the only one who is a perfect, and I mean PERFECT fit for Bond in every way (age, aspect, acting skills, style, education). Without any need to change anything in him to make him fit the part. The end. Henry Cavill is it, sorry. That's what anyone who suggests Fassbender gets from me
Really, I can't even stand the mere suggestion. Of course he is the champion of the Craig fans.. he is exactly like Craig. Wrong aspect, wrong attitude, not nearly handsome enough.

Re: Michael Fassbender Addresses James Bond Casting Suggesti
I think it is going to come down to other movies series doing the Bond vibe better than Bond "people", Given this reality since 2002 I'd say Bond has to turn back soon if they wait too long it will no longer matter. Fassbender may be fun as doing Bond better than Craig can but that is where the fun is, him in the role properly will not have the same fun vibe.
I am looking forward to first class hearing it is like Bond is good thing, Inception was the last big film to openly say they were mimicking Bond so I hope this is good sign.

Sign this character Fassbender up in a remake of A Perfect Murder and let him play the lover of Gwyneth Paltrow's role, like Viggo did, http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BM ... SY922_.jpg or sign him up for a Ghostbusters III, or something like that. Other than that, he belongs behind a deli counter. NO WAY is this Bond! There is more VIGGO in Fassbender than Bond.

And per photo evidence above... that photo is him with dyed hair in an extremely flattering pose. Sorry, no way, no how this dude is Bond material.

I saw a better ad for first class, he is not Bond material. No question. Is he better than Craig yeah he probably would be. Is he up to Connery, Moore, and Brosnan, No.
Don';t wish him ill but he is going ot be better as a Bond adversary, may be another 00.
