'Bourne' scriptwriter recruited for 'Robocop' remake

Sci-fi revival film is moving along

Josh Zeutmer, a scriptwriter who worked on the Bourne film franchise, has been signed up for the new Robocop film remake. The reboot of the 1980s sci-fi series, about a cop brought back from death to fight on as a cyborg, is being helmed by MGM.

Last week the studio recruited Brazilian director Jose Padilha for the project, and they have now hired Zeutmer, reports Deadline.com. He has worked on 2010's The Infiltrator as well as the Bourne franchise.

There have yet to be any casting details revealed regarding the lead role, made famous first by Peter Weller.

Rebooting Robocop has been a priority for MGM for some time, with Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky originally linked to the project. Plans were shelved when the studio experienced financial difficulties which also halted production on the next James Bond film.

With the studio now in better shape, both projects have been resumed.

And on QOS, but I guess MGM "forgot" to mention that in the news release. Gee, anyone would think Zeutmer wanted to distance himself from that film.

Speaks volumes about what MGM thinks of QoS. For sure one of the main reasons for the massive fallout between MGM and Babs. And lol yes, if I were that scriptwriter I sure wouldn't push for QoS to be mentioned in my CV!
