Re: Daniel Craig in drag
Wisely, Craig's "acting" duties were confined to walking and staring gormlessly into the camera while Dame Judi did all the heavy lifting.

This story can be found at http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/popwrap/d ... eiTNKo28lITo help promote International Women's Day, James Bond has taken a moment from getting women out of their knickers to slip into a pair himself. In a new video narrated by Dame Judi Dench, reprising her role as M, Daniel Craig (as 007) is informed of all the professional indignities being forced upon women -- even today![/img]
Oddly, the character has done more to demoralize women over his 50 year history than almost any other -- and I'm not just counting the smattering of silly names (Dr. Christmas Jones, Dr. Molly Warmflash, Pussy Galore, Plenty O'Toole, Holly Goodhead, Penelope Smallbone and, of course, Octopussy) he's subjected them to!

Here’s a video of Daniel Craig listening to Dame Judi Dench rattle off alarming statistics about the still-prominent gender gap in the U.K. and elsewhere to honor National Women’s Day 2011. The video, scripted by Jane Goldman of Kick Ass, is blunt, articulate, and coldly sobering.
Then Daniel Craig is suddenly in drag, and the video becomes very literal and bizarre, but it still says very serious. I thought drag was supposed to equal instant hilarity, as per the Oscars? Remember when James Franco was like, “I’m in a dress” and we weren’t sure why that was happening or why the segment lasted another 20 seconds without him doing anything else? Either way, the video makes a lot of very serious points, and there’s Daniel Craig in drag:

Re: Daniel Craig in drag
Bond does have a long history of men in drag.

A very bad decision to use Bond for this kind of stunt. The producers have to be crazy to allow it.

From the 4 Fun archives Producers Take James Bond in New Direction
talesofthestupid.blogspot.com

by Mimi Spoofington, Arsociated Farce Movie Writer
New York – James Bond fans will be left stirred and
shaken this winter when they discover the iconic British
spy gets a sex change.
"After much thought and consideration, we have
decided, in agreement with the actors, to take the
James Bond franchise in a new, challenging direction,"
a statement released by Eon Productions announced on
Sunday.
Casino Royale, the 21st screen adaptation of Ian
Fleming's suave Martini-drinking spy, will see James
Bond on the run and forced to undergo a sex change
operation to evade his enemies.
Reached by phone by AF, producer Barbara Broccoli
said that the new Bond was directly inspired by Daniel
Craig, the little known 37-year-old actor who was
chosen last October to replace fan favorite Pierce
Brosnan. "Daniel has been struggling with the role. He
had trouble understanding it. The guns, the fast cars,
the women. I think he didn't really get all that. So he
realized something was wrong. He approached us with
the gender bending idea and he said it was something
he definitely wanted to do for some time now. Of
course, we were one hundred percent supportive. And
from a character standpoint, it opens a whole new
direction. So we decided to write it into the script.".

The tagline for Bond 23: "Bond is back..and this time he's getting in touch with his feminine side".

Re: Daniel Craig in drag
I think that's kind of the idea. I can see what the ad is getting at (take a man's man and force him to imagine what it would be like if he was a woman), but judging by the response, it doesn't seem to be getting its message across very well.buffybond wrote:What the hell are they playing at.

Re: Daniel Craig in drag
I thought Daniel looked very poorly, recent pictures of him he has looked...scrawny may be the word. He definitely has lost the bulk he put on for CR if he is serious about Bond 23 Daniel better hit the gym.
Does anybody know when they made this PSA? It feels like it was thrown together last minute.
