Haven't watched Idol this season at all but HOT d**n this girl is good. And, she is also good-looking! And I'm not one to be easily satisfied by singers given how important music is for me. Haven't seen others, but I cannot NOT root for this one! I vote for her to sing Jackman's or Cavill's theme song, for sure! I really like her voice, great idea BJ!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... taker.html Keep Pam Bouvier away from her!
 oh yeah, I've read that last week. All I can say is, further proof Henry Cavill isn't just some Hollywood schmuck. Even when he picks a girlfriend, he picks a top sports athlete and not just a random one, a higher-class, well-educated and grounded girl. From his own country. Not one of the many wannabes or young actresses that there are around (and I'm sure quite a few have thrown themselves at him, how can they NOT?!). Then of course, in due time he'll meet his actual Bond girl. Which of course will be Pam Bouvier redux.
Superman producer Christopher Nolan has said that Henry Cavill will make an "extraordinary" Man of Steel.

Nolan, who will oversee Zack Snyder's franchise reboot while directing The Dark Knight Rises, discussed the British actor's casting in the iconic superhero role with Empire.

"Henry's a terrific choice as Superman," Nolan said. "Other than having the look, he gave an incredible performance in the test we did and I think he's going to be something really extraordinary in the role."

Cavill revealed that he almost gave up acting, only to change his mind when he came close to landing the role of James Bond in Casino Royale.

"I was actually very close to throwing in the towel before the Bond screentest happened," he explained. "The test kept me in the industry. As soon as I got it, I thought, 'There's a reason to stick around. I'm not just wasting my time here.'"

Diane Lane was recently added to the Superman cast as Clark Kent's adoptive mother Martha Kent. Kevin Costner and Viggo Mortensen have also been rumored for the comic book movie.
How can I NOT love him? Impossible not to. And of course he's great, he really is a very good actor and he has that imponderable quality that very few people have: the cool charisma and confidence, which Snyder said in previous interviews they all saw even when he had the Superman suit on. He said they laughed at others when they walked away in their Superman outfit. And they did NOT laugh when Henry was done, because well, he was Superman, because of that imponderable quality above.

Those fanboys should read the above ad nauseam, to understand how a proper actor behaves and LOOKS. And, his passion and consideration for Bond is such that he said the above (I knew he had said it but I had only heard it so never quoted for that reason, glad he talked about it again). Let's just say that EON have one freaking chance to finally get it right... and they better not squander it, or the Bouvier stiletto will HIT! :007:

Pia Toscano Becomes Favourite To Win American Idol

PIA TOSCANO has emerged as the favourite to win season ten of American Idol after a show-stopping performance on Wednesday night (2nd March 2011)
PIA TOSCANO, the American Idol contestant who received a standing ovation on Wednesday's show, is now considered the favourite to triumph on season ten.
Toscano was the "big surprise" of the night after singing The Pretenders hit 'I'll Stand by You'. According to MTV News, Pia, "Dug deep and showed off her pitch-perfect pipes", adding, "Her range was sick, she had confidence, she effortlessly hit some major power notes. America stood up and noticed, as did the judges, who gave her the first official standing ovation of season 10". The performance had stunned viewers of this week's show, as Toscano has rarely been feature on the series until now. Other contestants such as CASEY ABRAMS, JACOB LUSK, LAUREN ALAINA and the recently eliminated Chris Medina had dominated the audition stages but Toscano has now emerged as the singer to beat.
After her performance, PIA TOSCANO successfully made it through to the live finals, after the 24 contestants were rounded down to 6 boys and 8 girls. She will be joined by the likes of SCOTTY MCREERY, JAMES DURBIN, THIA MEGIA and HALEY REINHART to vie for the coveted crown of American Idol.

Personally, I think giving the Bond theme to a flash-in-the-pan reality TV show winner is a terrible idea, and a surefire way to ensure that the film looks dated by the time it receives its network TV premiere.

This girl is NO flash in the pan Kris. She can out sing most others who have done other Bond themes and it seems the Broccolis were disgraced by the last singer, or did you forget that? Miss Keyes has the name, but NO talent to sing a Bond song. How good was that Kris, or even Cornell's forgotten song to CR or Madonna's DAD? Talent=success, period!

If you're so convinced that she won't just be another reality show winner who becomes famous for 15 minutes and then gets forgotten as soon as the next shiny thing comes along, then let her do a Bond theme in a few years time. If she still has a recording contract by then.

Idol has produced many successful singers, from Carrie Underwood to Chris Doughtry. These people have a major career and they have become established artists (Underwood has also won a number of industry awards). Katharine McPhee not only sang but also has a filming career. Not to mention, ahem, Miss "I was just a poor girl and then I went an Idol and I won AN ACADEMY AWARD while singing in my movie as well", Jennifer Hudson. Granted, the first editions had a level of talent that was definitely superior to the latest ones, but still, the track record of American Idol is unbelievably good when it comes to people who were successful on the show.

I do not know if this girl (btw is she Italian American? Because the name and last name sure suggest so) will follow in the footsteps, but she sure seems to have the talent to do so. And she sure sings greatly. Unlike, for example, that girl who won X Factor in England, whom I NEVER liked one bit. What's her name.. Leona Lewis. Truth is, American Idol has always a range of talent that cannot be matched by any other singing game show. I'm not in favor of people who win that type of thing in general, but when it is a US show it's different from the start as obviously the number of people they have to pick from is WAY higher than that of any other state in Europe, and also they just have a very different average cultural level (and I mean superior) when it comes to pop music. I am no fan of any of the European X Factor shows, but I've watched many editions of American Idol, and they have a ridiculously high average level of singers. There have been seasons when it wasn't exceptional but those are the minority IMO, not the majority.

Anyway... I vote for Maroon 5 to do the Bond song for Cavill as Bond, they are refined and they have the perfect sound to make a Bond song, BUT I wouldn't complain if this girl sang a song. At least from what I saw in the video. BJ, Alicia Keys is a very talented singer... very. She just had the wrong song for Bond. As far as Cornell, well sorry he sucks  And Madonna, she should never have done a Bond song to begin with as nothing in the type of music she does fits a Bond movie. I'm just glad we dodged the Winehouse bullet. That would have been HORRIFIC. I dislike the voice of that singer with a passion. She doesn't sing, she moans and yells.

LOL BJ... sorry to disappoint, but I am MOST DEFINITELY NOT a Bocelli fan. He is a VERY poor man's Pavarotti. So that song she sings in the other youtube video, which was Bocelli, really isn't my cup of tea. Bocelli is MUCH more popular in the US than he is in Italy. NOBODY freaking listens to him here, I'm not kidding! I am glad she sang "I'll Stand by You" instead, much more modern and much better song IMO. I'm not into Celine Dion either (while she is an amazing singer I find her repetitive and very cheesy at times), so I hope she doesn't sing Dion stuff either. She should go for less cheesy, more modern OR much more Motown-like stuff.

LMAO at the Cr-egg candles idea BJ! If they do it, you should ask for royalties!

Bocelli hated in Italy and more popular in the USA? Why? Bad reputation? I guess no opera-like Bond song by him. :D

He doesn't have a bad reputation... he just isn't good. And contrary to one of the MANY stereotypes ITALIAN AMERICANS (who are NOT Italians, but Italian Americans) perpetrated about this country, people here DO NOT listen to freaking cheesy stuff like that. And they do NOT listen to opera all the time either. And if they do then it's PAVAROTTI or someone serious, not Bocelli. Bocelli doesn't do opera. He does opera-like singing, VERY different thing. He isn't very good at all. Just average opera-like singer who is very good at selling himself. And yes, WAY more popular in the USA than he is here. Because he is the typical Italian stereotype Americans will fall for. Except, again, we do NOT listen to that kind of music here. You go around places, NOWHERE will you find opera even of the serious kind. People listen to international music and to pop, just like everyone else on the planet does!

It annoys me to no end that every single time a US primetime show or movie films Italy, it shows two things A)Tuscany. Uh hello? there are another freaking 20 regions in this country, and Tuscany, while having some really beautiful places, is by no means the most representative of "what is Italian". And, there are much more beautiful places in other areas. Try Sicily, try Lake Garda where I live (yes you idiotic Foster, in LOMBARDY, not in freaking Tuscany like you made people believe when you filmed QoS. 400 kilometers north of where you had spectators believe, you jackass!). Also, wanna show Tuscany? Show freaking Forte dei Marmi, where all the jet setters go, show Lucca, a hidden gem town nearby that US filmmakers never even bother to consider. ENOUGH of Siena and Florence. And of freaking poderi (that means country villas) in Tuscany where they show people from the freaking THIRTIES (NOBODY dresses like that anymore) having mass lunches made up of 20 people that NOBODY here has unless it is freaking Christmas! And B) no matter what part of Italy, there's always the effing musica lirica in the background. GET OVER that stereotype! NOBODY listens to it and you will NOT find it playing around in restaurants or in towns. Unless maybe you go to a cheesy tourist restaurant serving heated up pizzas. Then maybe there  Nah, not even.

When we show the US here, we show NYC, LA, Washington, Texas... many different places. And we don't show Americans eating at McDonald's and listening to country music all the time. What they do when they show Italy in US movies is the equivalent of doing this.

 She is yet another non-Italian thing that only exists in America. People have no freaking idea who she is here.

And trust me if she was anyone who is anywhere near a gourmet chef, I would know her, since cooking refined food is a huge thing in my family. I love to cook. And I love enjoying my food. People who think they can't eat carbohydrates to keep shape or they can't eat everything are just foolish. Thing is, what is needed is freshly cooked stuff and being capable of cooking decently with fresh, healthy ingredients. AND of course... exercising! That's all there is to it. Half an hour a day of running or biking or a walking quickly will keep people in shape, IF they also cook fresh stuff. I've seen soi-disante Italian "chefs" on US TV that made me want to call and sue them for blatantly lying and insulting Italian cuisine. Most of what is called "Italian" in the US isn't the way it's supposed to be at all. Though of course there are some very good Italian restaurants in NYC (and in Boston too). Been to a good one in LA as well. Clearly, the good Italian restaurants in NYC are NOT in Little Italy.

Mmmm,Italian food. I almost want to throw up when I see ads for places like Olive Garden.Their food always looks so nasty, to say nothing of having *no* nutritional value whatsoever.I'm part Italian and could make a meal that runs circles around places like Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill.
