In ref to Bond in the UK.FormerBondFan wrote:Supie and Middle Earth creatures will be roaming the theaters a month later.Kristatos wrote:IMDb has the UK and USA release date as 9th November 2012. In the USA, that's a week after Monsters Inc. 2 and a week before the final (I think) Twilight movie.
It has less competition in the UK, which is traditionally Bond's strongest market - and home advantage seems to be even more pronounced in CraigBond's case. If you find someone defending QOS on an Internet messageboard, chances are, it'll be a Brit. Not sure if my compatriots' seeming collective insanity will be enough to save Bond 23 though.
Thats true to a certain extent CR did extremely well in the UK, and obviously expectations were high for QOS as seen by the opening weekend record, but unlike CR after the 3rd to 4th week takings for QOS dropped off significantly in comparison to CR......probably due to the bad word of mouth.
Just to point out that when PB came along in the rejuventaed series in 1995, the takings for each of his subsequent Bond films went up by quite a large margin in the UK.
