I go out of town for a week, and return to find Henry Cavill has signed on to play Superman. When will EON productions learn of the biggest mistake they could make in recent history.
First they let the billion dollar Bond go. Then they hire an actor who is miscast in the role. Now they let one of the only suitable actors who could play James Bond go, and sign on for Superman.
Way to go. :cuss:
If that wasn't enough I hear Javier Bardem and Ralph Feinnes are being touted as being approached for Bond 23. Both fine actors, maybe we're going to get 'No Bond film for Old Men' or 'The Constant Bore'. Perhaps they're going to make another Harry Potter movie. Feinnes is Voldemort, Bardem is ???, and Daniel Craig is Dobby the house elf.
Give me a good old Bond film like Harry and Cubby made, that didn't rely on big stars to get people in, but used good film making and the character of James Bond to win the viewers. Time to get the old DVDs out again.

Cavill could still get the role, long gone are the days when an actor could only play one iconic role, Bob Downey with Ironman and Sherlock for example.
In 5 to 6 years time Henry will probaly be finished with Superman and will only be coming up to 34 so the role could easily be his for a decade but as I have said before eons new partners will want him sooner.

I think Henry could play Superman, then go off and do the Bond films. It'd probably be a pretty tiring schedule(depending on when each of the movies was being filmed.) but he could give it a try.

If the superman movies are made at the same pace as the Batman there will be plenty of time.

"Great Caeser's Ghost", as Perry White would say, you are correct Bond's Ghost. There is plenty of time to do both.

I agree. And looking at younger actors of recently rebooted franchises, Chris Pine also fits the bill. He does Star Trek and he's Jack Ryan too. Cavill is a wise person, he's always carefully picked his auditions and his roles... I don't think he'll do more than 2 Superman movies (provided the first one goes well, fingers crossed). And in any case, just like Pine, he can shoot Bond WHILE he is on another franchise as well. It's not like people would ever mix up Clark Kent and James Bond anyway, since they are polar opposite types of characters.

Ah, the dreams of an actually wonderful Bond future. Let's just hope EON for once don't mess it up, yet again. More than that, I am confident the new partners will bring along the necessary "either you cast Cavill or I'll kick your ass" attitude that's needed to get rid of Babs's nonsense :cuss:

Good Lord, how many horrid photos of him can there be? And this is a still from the movie.

I don't know why I think of "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" whenever I see stills from Cowboys & Aliens. Not that I think it's gonna become anywhere near an "epic" movie like the other one is considered... Hm, which of the three would Craig be? :P

That film looks like utter garbage  and why did Ford even sign on? No other work out there?

I was surprised when I first watched the trailer... surprised by how awful the movie looks. Considering the names behind it and the fact writers I deem REALLY good were part of the writing team, the case is either that they put the worst stuff in the trailer, OR that it was a general slip in the wrong direction. I am genuinely surprised because given the producing and writing names involved, I expected basic perfection.

LMAO the hat is indeed way too big  That photo is horrid... BUT it's certainly a perfect portrait of the not good looking cowboy type who's had a rough life. Now a question: how exactly does that translate into JAMES BOND? :^o):

Harrison Ford is, sadly, way past his prime... I guess he cares more about working in general than about being in actually great movies.

Is it possible Captain America and Cowboys & Aliens will be overpowered by Harry Potter 7 (Part 2) no matter how great they are?

You don't have to worry about "Cr-egg's and Aliens" outdoing HP FBF. With Cr-egg looking more like Wyatt "Burp" from the old west, one might consider him one of the aliens instead  ! You cannot make a successful blockbuster with Cr-egg as a lead role in any cast.
