I have a couple of questions for you, i've been reading your posts, and you say you have some friends in the film business!

Do you live in the US, and do you personally work in the film business?

Sorry for being nosey, but i just wondered.

Thanks

EA :)
Buonasera EA! Come stai? Tutto a posto?

I live between here (Italy) and the US. For now. But sooner rather than later to move to NYC. YES, BJ and I in the same place, Barbara Broccoli better not even think of setting foot in NYC!

I do personally work in the business, I've been working with entertainment industry in the US in particular for the past few years. I am and will always be a journalist first and foremost, though. The fact I started out other big projects with filming/TV/entertainment doesn't change my nature  The funniest thing is I'm not nosy at all... I may ask questions here and there, but people just CHAT with me and tell me things. Than I have to keep secrets and they're so many I just forget about them, so no problem
ICE storm due tonight with 1-2 inches of ICE alone, then rain tomorrow all day but I hope it warms to near 40 degrees to start melting this stuff. There is over 30 inches of packed snow :cuss: still on my small lawn in front of my house. Saturday's forecast: SNOW! :cuss: I cannot stand this any longer! New Delhi, here I come! :cuss:
Good Lord, that is a ridiculous amount of snow. I just spoke with my friend in NYC and she said that it's going to be ICE, then SNOW, then ICE, then rain but the rain won't be nearly enough to melt. And then a few days of total freeze. So basically, a NIGHTMARE. She is in Long Island though, so she may be worse off than you?

I am Italian and VERY Mediterranean as far as weather (and food, and fashion) is concerned.. I hate winter, but if I had to deal with that much snow, I'd DEFINITELY elope to the Caribbean. (nicer than New Delhi in terms of climate I think. At least you can dip in the sea when it's too hot?)

The whole East Coast winter is like a winter-long nightmare

Bene, Grazie

Here in the UK (we never get the weather extremes that other countries get, we just get a lot of dull, overcast days).
Anyway, i always look forward to going on hol to the Med each year, 2 hols if i'am lucky. I'am a sun man!
I mean 300 days out of 360 a year are sunny in the Med, lovely..........plus the food and drink!
I could be in Italy again in a few months time cycling around the lovely countryside! :)

EA (looking forward to the summer) :typing:

It's supposed to get down in the 20's tomorrow night  We're having a "cold" Santa Ana-where the Santa Ana winds are cold rather than warm-never knew there was such a thing!

The extreme weather has given away one of Bond 23's main plot points. Snow, Bolivian Snow. The large reservoir seen in Quantum is transformed by a chemical process and clouds seed by a fleet of Douglas DC3s into a blanket of snow leaving Bolivia once more to the mercies of dastardly bankers. Who happen to operate from a Ice Castle Fortress located ideally on Shatterhand Lake a homage to Die Another Day and You Only Live Twice.

Bond receives his first set of skis from Q bundled so tightly he is unrecognizable. Q's muffled voice sounds faintly similar to the grow up double oh seven of fame. Q grouses about being set out by the main office and mentions how he abhors field work. Not quite the Q we know from the movies.

That is all I have feel free to build on it, or not. :D

Everyone stay safe in this weather. Hot Chocolate all around

Rubbing it in huh? Good for you though! at least it's sunny here today. Cold as I won't say what but clear blue sky... I HATE winter I am so much of a sun and summer person (Yes, we're very much alike on that EA!) I just can't wait for March to be here when at least it won't be freezing. Not that it will be warm, but at least not freezing. I've SO had enough of winter, and I haven't had nearly as much snow as poor BJ and the East Coasters in the US!

Btw, by translating experience "bizarre" is still very much in use ;)

Ice split the bushes in front of my house. It has to melt off the leaves. You cannot even chip it off. Maybe the bushes will spring back to normal configurations once the ice melts. I hate winters. Chicago got blasted too now. Rooftops of commercial buildings collapsed in the tri-state area and one collapsed barn roof in Connecticut killed two quality broodmare former harness racehorses. Harness racing takes place in France and Italy and Europe too. They just had the Prix D'Amerique in France. I believe Taranto Italy Ippodromo Paolo VI is big into the sport as well. I wonder where Broccoli resides and if the winter is affecting her thought processes?

Winter is what she uses to freeze in order to maintain her youthful appearance, didn't you know? I think her thought processes were frozen LONG ago. And never unfroze.

That is HORRIBLE about the weather, I was talking to some friends in NYC last night and it is beyond crazy. Wtf? I just want spring to be here yesterday, and I'm not dealing with nearly as much snow and ice!

Evening All

Is it me, or did this site go down for several hours today........couldn't log on for quite sometime.

Forgetting for a moment everyone's favourite Bond!

I will be glad if Javier Bardem takes the role of villian in Bond 23, as i think he will make quite an impact.
I keep reading conflicting stories about the new film, i.e that it will carry on from where QOS left off, or that the new film is going to be something completely different to past Bonds.
I feel some what a bit more confident at present that Bond 23 will be a better film than QOS, well for one i believe Mendes will hold the camera steady when filming, which will be something positive. But i've got a feeling that somehow EON have got a cunning plan for the new film.
I mean only an idiot would make 2 bad films back to back, wouldn't they? :)

EA

'Ale' thanks for the grammer tip......but i did learn English at the 'Mother Goose' infant primary school.

What grammar tip? LOL I'm lost! I didn't say anthing? LOL

Not just you, I couldn't access the site for quite a few hours myself! Sabotage!

only an idiot would make 2 bad films back to back.... hmmm I guess I shouldn't say that they made first the most boring and then the worst (NON) Bond movie ever already? Mendes may keep the camera straight (unsure about that since we don't know who the 2nd unit director will be, depending on who Mendes picks and what he wants the results could be very different LOL) but he has ZERO action flick experience which is what makes me really fear this is going to be yet another QoS. Trust me, I hope it isn't. Bardem would be a great villain, I just don't think he's very likely to say yes though. but if he does say yes, he would sure be a great add (and may I add he would overshadow Craig).

I agree, but what i was really trying to say, that after the media and publics response to QOS.............EON surely would of taken note of the comments, and will not make the same mistake of making Bond 23 in the same tone as QOS, and re-hiring the same mismatch of professional people to make the film.
Only someone with 'half a brain' ('Arthur Brain'.....wasn't he a poster here at one time? :D) would make the same mistakes twice!

It really does not matter what Bond 23 is all about. Planning a $200 million film(if they even go that high) around the same INANE DRONE as Bond is a waste of time. Cr-egg brings no vitality or excitement to the role and continuing the mother-son complex between lady M and Bond where she belittles his stupidity constantly is NOT something Bond fans want any part of any longer. If Cavill takes over, they cannot reboot the storyline again so he will then have to be an experienced Bond. The entire strategy of Broccoli is a farce! An old looking novice Bond will wind up being replaced by an experienced youthful looking actor. Nonsense. So why even make only the 3rd Cr-egg film in 10 years? I cannot stand Barbara Broccoli's arrogance to the fans. She thinks we will come out and watch any pile of celluloid she puts out just because it has the Bond logo on it. Did she forget 1987 and 1989? The 'eggster' is yesterday's news. Let's be done with his travesty interpretation of Bond already. It's time for MGM to tell MGW to buy out his half-baked sister's stake in Eon! What say yee Arthur?

I don't think they are changing direction from QOS the keywords are "nuanced" & "intriguing". Mendes is going to be a disaster because he thinks he is better than he is. It is like we were talking about when QOS came out they made an art house film when they were suppsoed to be making a BOND MOVIE. Mendes is talking about a prestige film and making his mark on Hollywood that is not good combination for Bond. An action director even with a bad script could make a movie worth watching.

You remembered who 'AB' was........i was just testing your memory 'BJ' :)

First of all, i would like to see the Bond films back on track in regards to hopefully one film being made every 2 years.
Regarding any other aspects of Bond, i will wait to see how the next film turns out....and it better be good!
If not, i can see the studios trying to take more control away from EON (if they can).
