Now now BJ. You are bordering on that blinkered view, refusing to accept other peoples views, which you frequently criticize MI6 for.

Just because certain Bond fans like Craig too, doesn't mean they are not normal, traditionalist Bond fans.

I'd only watch it if Ridley Scott were involved!

LOL. Seems like your idea gave way to a whole new franchise

I trust Katie on this one in terms of "ew" effect... I really hate gory movies so I don't think this one's for me. And you too said it's quite gory, so sorry I'll pass. I am familiar with the concept seen as it was so popular, but I think I will keep it at that

I still can't believe one ot two of you have not seen this film.......it only came out in 1979!

As film fans to of missed out on this classic is a shame........the experience of watching people in a truly terrifying situation, will bring a new perspective of life to you and is a film that will linger in your memory for ever, once seen!

It was unfortunate that from my point of view that QOS will be remembered by many Bond fans, but not for a positive reason!

I always accept others views. My statements are MY personal thoughts. I find Eon's latest ideas foreign to traditionalist Bond fans and I am surprised you don't. There is NOTHING traditional about Cr-egg as Bond. Name ONE thing? He has no class, no looks, a short stature, he mumbles, has flat hair that looks pasted onto his head,a horrific profile, etc. You cannot say that about the prior 5 Bond actors, can you?

I know people who never saw Jaws or The Godfather I or II. Sometimes you just do not connect with a film. I have seen The Sting zillions of times but I bet there are those who have never watched it once. EA, where have you been for the past many months that you are back now regularly? I want you to stay all the time so don't disappear on us again!

Hey, I was a toddler when that movie was released! It was most definitely not appropriate for me to watch! And, I just never felt the need to afterward. It's just not really the genre of movie I like, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great movie

BJ, I am extremely, and I mean extremely annoyed because I'm re-reading CR and all details are coming back to me... and the man in that novel and the STORY as well is nothing like Craig's non-Bond CR. What the hell is wrong with script writers even? The concept didn't need to be changed THAT much, and for heaven's sakes, Bond in Fleming's CR IS anyway Bond, not some schmuck who won't care whether his Martini is shaken or stirred! This makes me furious :cuss:

'BJ' ..........i would of returned to the forum last year, as i had stated in a previous post that i would contribute to the discussions here once we knew the go ahead for Bond 23 was given.
But, as you know last year MGM had to sort their finances out, so there was little to talk about.
Well i'am back now, and hopefully we will get some news on the film in the not so distant future.
Though in the meantime some of my posts may drift off onto other film topics.
It's good to see that the regular gang here stuck it out last year, though it must of been difficult to find things to talk about!
Good to see some new people here contributing regularly such as 'Ale'.
The one person who i do miss was young 'Skywalker', he had quite a raport here with the posters.........and when did 'Stocks' dissapear.

EA :)

I've never seen the Godfather  Wasn't allowed to see Jaws as a kid since we lived near the ocean and my parents were afraid it'd freak my brothers and I out too much.

Stocks..well, he periodically makes an appearance to big up Michael Fassbender as the next Bond  and to complain about my being here. Not being it rhymes-with-witchy,it's the truth.

EA :)[/quote]We always find things to talk about EA, that's no problem. This forum is diverse in it's posters origins and I like that very much, from all parts of our globe. The recent addition from Italy is a true GEM and she most definitely has added to the regular posters here, so much so, that I now consider her a regular here.

The house utilized in The Godfather films is only 8 miles from me. I never knew this fact until last month when it went up for sale and was written about.

  I'm blushing and that doesn't easily happen to me! I am so thankful to have found this community and to have been welcomed right away, I have found old friends here (you know who you are ) and most of all made new ones, which is great as it's always an invaluable experience to find diverse people to exchange opinions with. Of course the fact I don't feel like I'm "going against the tide" is a welcome change  Not that I have any problem posting in civilized general forums where the majority of posters are Craig fans, I still do in one. I have dear longtime internet friends who are Craig fans and I get along with them great, and think of them as very smart, civilized Bond fans. By experience, though, these wonderful people aren't the majority. So I'm even more so glad I "met" them. But of course this forum is unique for its origins and the general feel and ideas of the people who post here, so I feel like I always have a smile coming up when I open it (mainly because many of the comments here are humorous ones ) "Incidents" happen, as in discussions that get out of hand, but I really think in general this is a great place to be.

EA, does it make it better that I HAVE seen the Godfather more than once. And the Untouchables, too! (I LOVE the Untouchables). Didn't Skywalker post recently, BJ? I thought I saw posts from him but maybe I'm confusing, since I went back to read some old stuff to see how you guys got at each other's throats when the forum opened

You're right. We need to lure here more female posters. I'll see what I can do

In other news, you can breathe a sigh of relief Katie... Variety just reported this:
Fassbender in talks for Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus': Film News: Actor in negotiations to star opposite Noomi Rap... http://bit.ly/fpeuHS
I think this bodes VERY well for us. All those fanboys who talk about this completely inadequate guy for Bond will soon be forced to shut up if he's cast in big productions. Too famous to be Bond etc.. (not to mention ABSOLUTELY inadequate).
Michael Fassbender is in negotiations to star in Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" for 20th Century Fox.

Fassbender was considering several roles, including Universal's "Snow White and the Huntsman."

Pic, which also stars Noomi Rapace, moved today from a March 9 2012 release date to June 8.

Damon Lindelof is rerewriting Jon Spaihts' original script along with Scott.

Fassbender has a slew of pics slated for this year, including Fox's "X-Men: First Class."

Thesp is repped by CAA.
Excellent about X-Men, too, hopefully Hugh Jackman will kick his ass  And, the more franchises the better. I think we can safely rule out the guy at this point. Way too busy with other stuff.

LOVE Noomi Rapace, she was GREAT as Lisbeth in the Swedish language movies of the Stieg Larsson books. *Exactly* like I picture her.
