Og god, there was some some movie Bruce was in back in the early 90's, maybe the late 80's,that my sister-in-law's parents saw and said was like a soft core porn movie.

I'm not sure if it could be...
Mortal Thoughts.

or

Colour Of Night
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109456/

Either way, Bruce has made a few turkeys along the way. But he also gave us John Mclane and Butch Coolidge. And is therefore awesome.

It's a scene from The Tudors (If you want to see him in anything, that's the easiest option.. you can find episodes online). Picture them at a casino with contemporary clothing and that scene is Bond vs Bond girl du jour  Especially that "pity, I had a winning hand" line and Cavill's attitude throughout the scene. Granted, he's not playing Bond here but I think it's close despite it being at the time of Henry VIII
I still think he looks to young in that scene, though I've seen him in more recent episodes and he looked fine.

Yeah, that was season 1. I can see why some would think he looked too young. I personally think he didn't look too young to play a rookie Bond? Rookie Bond in books is supposed to be exactly the age Cavill was back then. Anyhow the way he looks now is just fine to be Bond, which after all is all that matters!

Oh come on now with that Jackman image. Any other image from him in movies with normal attire will kick Craig's ass and then some  Actually I love him because he is d**n hot even when dressed like that in a Broadway play  Still... I just want Cavill to be the next one at this point. I will definitely take Bond 23 with Craig if in exchange they give me Cavill as the following Bond, no questions asked!

The reason Jackman was not considered for the Bond role is he was deemed to 'fey' for the role.
And I know bj loves Jackman in his song and dance routine images.

If that is the reason, it's a silly one. Was he "fey" as Wolverine, or Van Helsing?

I remember that. A leaked Eon memo said Jackman was too fey, Eric Bana was not handsome enough and Ewan McGregor was too short. I don't think the story was true though because after apparently saying all of that they then cast Daniel Craig who is on the short side himself and no oil painting.

Surprised Bana wasn't handsome enough. Not aged enough, is more like it!

Exactly. It's a ridiculous reason. Not that anyone knows that is the reason, that is the rumored Barbara Broccoli reason. So it bears zero weight, given she picked the one she had a crush on  Sure as hell Hugh Jackman is way more masculine than Daniel Craig. Problem is Barbara Broccoli was infatuated with Craig and clearly lost all idea about how Bond should look like and about how Bond should behave as well.
I remember that. A leaked Eon memo said Jackman was too fey, Eric Bana was not handsome enough and Ewan McGregor was too short. I don't think the story was true though because after apparently saying all of that they then cast Daniel Craig who is on the short side himself and no oil painting.
Exactly... laughable "memo". I always knew those were just and only the alleged Barbara Broccoli reactions. So imagine  Especially given Craig's casting afterward.. if those reasons were real, he would NEVER have been appointed as Bond. Short and far from handsome.

Explains why Cavill got to the end nevertheless.. Broccoli couldn't say he wasn't handsome enough since he's bloody gorgeous, he's very masculine so she had no excuse on that either, he's WAY taller than Craig and taller than Bond is supposed to be since he's 6 ft 1. She was out of excuses with Cavill. So then found the only one "too young! THERE! Cast my crush Daniel immediately!"

I've still yet to see any evidence that supports the oft mooted comment of Babs having a crush on Craig.
Is there any?
Jackman would've been fine to play Bond, and under different circumstances he may have won the role. I think the real reason is he's to well known already, but more likely was too expensive.
Craig being much less known before hand would've been the cheaper option, with the best acting ability of the final three.
(Though taking nothing from Cavill, but his age was the biggest let down for him)
Worthington though having the looks of a young Brosnan, but the acting ability and movement of an ape, was not an option.
Ewan McGregor would've been a good choice, and the height issue is utter BS, as he's half an inch taller than Craig.
Bana IS not handsome enough, nor has the charm.
Cavill for Bond # 7 or I'm going to start the site (Insert name here) should not be Bond and stole the role from Henry Cavill

The original script for CR called for Bond to be "about 28". Cavill was 22 in 2006, Worthington was 30 and Craig was 39, making Worthington the closest in age of the three shortlisted actors. Though if Cavill had been cast, at least that valet parking scene woudn't have looked totally bloody ridiculous.

I may be wrong here but I thought someone calculated that rookie Bond is around 23? (book calculation, not script). That's why I said Cavill was the right age. But, again, I may be wrong on this as I wasn't the one coming up with it. I did read the CR script back then but forgot about the age detail. In that case you're right about Worthington being closest in age. I still think he is not Bond material, and that he's just a more attractive version of Craig, but that's me. I haven't seen enough of his work to have a final judgment on his acting. I only saw a couple of things and wasn't particularly impressed one way or the other. Again, I would need to see more stuff to form a final judgement on his acting. But as far as looks and style are concerned, I do not think he has them.

LOL! That valet parking scene was so odd the first time around that I thought I had completely missed the point  Then my friend who was watching the movie with me (Empty theater, two of us, he owns movie theaters) told me "uh no you didn't miss out. That was supposed to be funny/joke". Me:  For sure Cavill would have worked much better, at least he was the right age for that scene :D

I do find Eric Bana handsome but I don't think he's the right type of handsome for Bond. I don't think he has the right attitude either. I respect him as an actor and by all means he's an attractive dude, I just don't see him as a right option for Bond.
I've still yet to see any evidence that supports the oft mooted comment of Babs having a crush on Craig.

She wasn't very subtle about that in her comments? Her crush on him was pretty trasparent by her comments? I thought it was pretty common knowledge? As in, very evident. I stand corrected if it's not. I may be more "sensitive" to certain comments being a woman. I honestly thought the fact of her having a crush on him was common knowledge. And Craig even commented about how she kept being on set the day of the torture scene, and he told her if she had nothing better to do than watching him shirtless etc? (it wasn' a joke. Or maybe it was he usual absence of humor in Craig and he meant it as such haha).

I agree about Jackman's actual problem only being that he was too popular and cost too much money. They couldn't afford him. That "fey" excuse just doesn't stand for a sec. Also agree about Ewan McGregor having been a reasonable choice at this point. If they picked Craig, I can't see why not him.
Cavill for Bond # 7 or I'm going to start the site (Insert name here) should not be Bond and stole the role from Henry Cavill
Let's hope it won't be necessary, but if it is, I will certainly be the first one to join after you start it  Unless they find a sensational someone, which I highly doubt, since that someone sensational is Cavill!

Let's not forget the time she "won" Craig in an auction. And if a picture speaks a thousand words, I recall one that did the rounds at the time of Craig's casting that spoke 2000 (the infamous "chapel hat pegs" picture).

Thank you for helping my memory. I knew there was some sensational fact I was leaving out, and it's exactly what you mentioned. Yeah, I am unsure what speaks "crush" more than stuff like that. A crush isn't a relationship, it's a crush. And I by all means think Babs has a huge one for Craig, and that's the reason why he was picked ultimately. That said, I of course may be wrong. But, let's just say the sum of facts really makes me think Babs has a one-track mind when it comes to Craig

I've been thinking that at this time, and being in my 30's, and British, that I'm in my prime to become Bond.
Okay so I've no acting experience, but then nor did George Lazenby.
I look good in a tux.
I like gadgets.
What could be better?
And I like James Bond.
Someone quick, make a call to EON.

Well Jane Seymour is a cougar.
No thought needed for that one.
And well if he was for England, then I guess.
Maybe a few ciders or bourbons first.
