I agree Captain Nash. We do need a Bond movie sooner rather than later, for the sake of the franchise. It better be a BOND MOVIE though, not some random "action guy kicks ass" movie :D

Yes,soon. And they are going to have to come up with something great, in terms of settings, Bond Girls, villains, etc.Oh, and a competent director, of course!

Nothing will progress until the egg-head is gone. As Bill Murray says in Meatballs at the inpirational camp speech, "IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER" if Cr-egg is still Bond.

A comptetent action director, specifically. Mendes is a very good director, but of mainstream dramas, not genre movies. Much as Marc Forster was, and we all know how that turned out.

I just watched A Christmas Carol, from 1938, on Turner Classic Movies for the umpteenth time. The opening scene looks EXACTLY like Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. I guess J K Rowling watched this film and ripped off that exact setting from this film.

There is the next Bond need to be out soon and then the realization that it need to be a success, not a guarantee with Babs boy toy. The relevance of his "modern take on Ian Fleming's Bond" quickly subsided before it began. The take on the world and Bond is a decade behind what the audiences want, also the book series is refreshing Bond in a way likely to be very popular to the British populace and relevant to the world as a whole, the world need heroes not conflicted nancy boys trying for their emo merit badge, working in an ugly world full of ugly people, emotions and governments.

The next Bond probably does need to hurry but no faster than 2013 with a new actor and refreshed take on the series. These yobbos only had a one film plan with Craig and the franchise is suffering because of it, they need to come back with a fresh take and a plan they can make movies for the next ten years with. Not one or two more with Craig however Babs can squeeze it in just because she loves him so, which would kill the franchise off permanently. Times have changed, they like to talk about updating Bond, well now is the time to do it.

More likely, the film's production designer did.

The bolded part in particular had me laugh out loud, because it is SO true. I don't understand how some seem to completely forget the fact that television and cinema are VISUAL mediums first and foremost. NOBODY wants to go to the movies to see ugly people, end of the story. Same applies to television. There can be ONE ugly character in a movie or on a tv show for a specific reason, but the rule is? You need to be attractive to be on TV or in movies. The majority of the cast needs to be attractive, that's for sure. AND to have the James Bond lead played by an actor who is so ordinary in terms of looks, is just absurd. To top that off, as you very well pointed out, there's the ugly world full of ugly people and all the emo part that was way overdone. I would think they have learnt the lesson but Barbara Broccoli is so stubbornly incompetent that I am not counting on it too much. The thing that makes me hope for the best is that in any case she won't be able to have nearly as much power as she did in the past, due to the known financial matters. So, that should help US on the sane side. That said, either Bond 23 (the final one for Craig if he is in it, this I am pretty sure of) is out by 2012, or Babs will have to forget about him, whether she likes it or not. And I'm pretty sure other investors will make this very clear to her, since nobody will be in any mood to risk a franchise and an investment over her stubborn crush. I just hope they see the light and end the nonsense due to the situation... which means CAST HENRY CAVILL AS BOND of course

Well, if Cavill is going to play new Bond (or anyway someone young and attractive) they can definitely take their time.. as long as they make sure to announce they have a new one and the movie is in the works. Once a new one is announced, then they'll clearly benefit from all the publicity that follows, so that won't be a problem. I agree now is the time to update Bond, but if they manage to get that d**n last Craig one out by 2012, then they can announce new actor after the movie is done and have publicity both now and right after. Don't misunderstand me, I would MUCH rather have Cavill take over for Bond 23 already, I'm just trying to see the light even in the scenario that we don't favor. Of course, just the thought of Cavill as Bond makes me instantly want to FORGET about Craig shooting another one  My problem is, I'm just dying to see the Bond I know and love finally back on screen. And that Bond sure as hell isn't Craig's Bond.

I researched this quite a lot and I believe, with the long break, Daniel Craig will look something like this by the time the next film comes out.

Poor Craig, it's not his fault if nature gave him those very pretty eyes but wasn't equally kind when the general face picture is concerned (bodywise he looked like GI Joe meets Rambo.. or rather like one of those pretty tacky gym-pumped types...)

Lifelong membership of the Daniel Craig fan club for anyone who knows what that picture is taken from.

The Twilight Zone episode Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up? But the only reason I know that is because I looked at the image URL and followed the trail back to Wikipedia.

That's cheating. I'm afraid I'll have to withdraw the fan club membership but as a consolation you'll be sent a Daniel Craig tea towel and a copy of Quantum of Solace.

LMAO!

Surely that's the only good use for the QoS DVD. I commend you Katie for coming up with the idea! Sell it to SONY now, they may actually sell a few more of those DVDs then

I didn't answer the quiz because I had no idea where the photo was from, and I would have had to cheat. But, even in my utter Craig dislike, that guy looks almost like Marty Feldman  Not even Craig ages that badly

Nice one! And covers the male demographic of Bond fans mainly. The coaster covers the women demo. You're a genius, seriously go to Sony and tell them
