Legal reasons I guess. Right now they are obviously in negotiations with a few different studios. Mazer will probably enlighten us more.

And Happy Birthday, Mr. Bond......

It seems to me like there haven't been any new news stories about Bond 23-well there was one about Frieda Pinto from Slumdog Millionaire being a Bond girl but she herself shot it down very quickly.

The Broadway experiment is over. No Tonys I would think. When will MGW be dragged out of hibernation to get the show on the road already?

If this drags out to 2013, a change in Bond will be in order.

Not much in the way of real news out there. The MGM drama is taking the all the oxygen out of the room.
There is the Jennifer Aniston wants to be a Bond Girl puffery, which is old news from months ago. I'm am certain she would be keen for a high profile anything.

Frieda Pinto's dismissal of the Bond Girl rumour was slightly embarrassing for the franchise.

Well there is this in the way of news. It gave me a laugh this morning ;)
Sheen: 'I want to play Miss Moneypenny'

Sheen: 'I want to play Miss Moneypenny'

Rex Features

Michael Sheen has joked that he wants to play Miss Moneypenny in the next James Bond movie.

The Welsh actor, who was rumoured for the role of 007's arch-nemesis Blofeld last year, told DS that he would rather portray the MI6 secretary than the classic Bond villain.

"Peter Morgan [Frost/Nixon screenwriter] has written the story for the next Bond film so there was that connection and then a journalist wrote as a joke that I would be playing Blofeld and that went viral," he said. "When people ask me, I always say I'm playing Miss Moneypenny, which I wish was true but is not!"

Sheen added that bringing back Blofeld, who was previously played by Donald Pleasence and Telly Savalas, would be difficult because of how successfully the character was parodied in Austin Powers.

"I suppose it's hard to play Blofeld now because of the Austin Powers films where Mike Myers plays Dr Evil," he commented "Roger Moore dropped him down a chimney didn't he, so he'd have to come back all f**ked up!"

LOL at the Moneypenny comment. He does have a point about the Austin Powers movies, and the fact that they essentially killed the Blofeld character off.

Blofeld was killed off on in the now classic series. The reboot left the door open for him to return along with essentially resurrecting his organisation. Surprised whoever has Kevin McClory's rights now hasn't sued them.

I think they should be very cautious about rebooting Blofeld. If(and that's a big if) they reboot the character he can't be the bald Blofeld of the 60's and 70's films. He'd have to be Blofeld 2.0.

I don't think it's EON's intention to resurrect Blofeld and SPECTRE. If it was then why create an organisation called Quantum?
Would've been far easier to call them SPECTRE and hey presto, Ernst can return in the next movie.
I think SPECTRE has been finished with.

Eon does not want you to remember that he went flying into a smoke stack and died. We would have to assume we are in a parallel Bond time frame ala Back To The Future and the new Star Trek film.

It was renamed is all. Similar to how the girl was coated in oil instead of gold. Same concept different execution.

Fields being covered in oil was  I don't know how anyone can see that as anything other than a retread of Goldfinger(and not a very good one at that! :P )

Let's face it. Most Bond fans were quite disappointed with The Bourne Mimicry, Quantum or no Quantum, Spectre or no Spectre. The fact we are even discussing such notions tells you how DEVOID Eon's writers are of NEW future themes, instead of resurrecting the old successful themes from a time distant. This entire charade is coming to a head now as worlds are colliding with Bond script contents.

The fact that the writers recycle ideas from over 40 years ago says a lot. Devoid of ideas? That is exactly why we'll get the rebooted Blofeld, sooner probably rather than later.I hope someone tells them NOT to go with the bald Blofeld. It'd be good advice to follow.

Blofeld's presence will turn this franchise into THE BOURNE MOCKERY, in effect, deleting films 1-20 in one fell swoop and expose Broccoli as the idiot she has become, and a clueless idiot.
