Forgot all about the write up I was going to do.

Quark finished up the 2009 year at number 26 selling 2.675m. Narrowly edging out a 70 year old cartoon classic. This is an unmitigated disaster doubly so for a big franchise like Bond.

Remember QoS should have sold 3.2 million DVDs the first week.

Finishing 26 might seem like an accomplishment, over all. It's not. Consider the Casino Royale finished its debut DVD year at number 22 with 4.4 million, weak numbers and low opening compared to expectations but far healthier than the sequel proved to be and less healthy than DAD's number worldwide.

If QOS had been in a 2007 market instead of the anemic 2009 it wouldn't have ranked past number 42, falling to such heavy hitter as Planet Earth - The Complete BBC Series, Saw III, Blades of Glory , the Flicka remake, Dreamgirls, the Prestige, and 6 weeks of Ocean's Thirteen.

The DVD market has shifted and that certainly can't be discounted as part of the problem although it certainly is not the heart of the problem in this case. The problem in this case is clearly definable as a god forsaken piece of crap some brain dead producers decided to call a "Bond Movie".
