Meet some of the people of 'Assassin's Creed II'

Expect the lead character in the sequel to action game Assassin's Creed to receive plenty of help from friends in his endeavours during the Renaissance in Italy, developers at Ubisoft reveal in a new video diary. Head to the bottom of this post to watch.

Assassin's Creed II, slated for release November 17, follows covert killer Ezio in 15th-century Italy as he seeks revenge for a "tragedy that's befallen his family," says script writer Corey May.

However, Ezio won't be acting alone. Players will receive assistance from three types of characters in the criminal underworld: courtesans, mercenaries and thieves.

A couple famous historical figures also appear, including Leonardo Da Vinci, who will "act as Q in James Bond," says Patrick Plourde, lead game designer. Ezio will serve as Da Vinci's test subject for many of his inventions such as the flying machine.
