Including gaining a place on the all time top ten list in the UK.
Not bad for a debut.
Roll on the encore.
The problem with those lists is that they will change year on year as the costs involved in viewing movies goes up and up. Hence higher revenue. A far fairer top ten would be admissions.Captain Nash wrote:According to this report :

I don't dispute the list, but it's not a fair reflection of success, as films in the past may have had higher attendances.Captain Nash wrote:Well then maybe you should write a stern letter to the UK film council then Anakin.
Box Office Mojo used to have an inflation-adjusted list for the UK, but they took it down, for some reason.Skywalker wrote:I don't dispute the list, but it's not a fair reflection of success, as films in the past may have had higher attendances.Captain Nash wrote:Well then maybe you should write a stern letter to the UK film council then Anakin.
When was the adjustment stopped?Kristatos wrote:Box Office Mojo used to have an inflation-adjusted list for the UK, but they took it down, for some reason.Skywalker wrote:I don't dispute the list, but it's not a fair reflection of success, as films in the past may have had higher attendances.Captain Nash wrote:Well then maybe you should write a stern letter to the UK film council then Anakin.
Zounds! That's like being the 6th biggest film in California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Better call the New York Times and tell them to hold the frontpage for this!Captain Nash wrote:According to this report :

Oh look CR isn't on it...but then it only has them up till DAD.
You are having a real problem with CR's success, aren't you.......PeterFranks wrote:Zounds! That's like being the 6th biggest film in California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Better call the New York Times and tell them to hold the frontpage for this!Captain Nash wrote:According to this report :

I think it's more a case of the American insularity that believes anything happening outside US borders to be insignificant. Not all Americans are like that, but the ones that are all seem to congregate on internet forums. The Sweeney wrote:You are having a real problem with CR's success, aren't you.......
Yeah the CR data is out of date, but at least it put's things into perspective.Kristatos wrote:Yes it is (and it has a more believable adjusted figure for LALD than the $607 million usually quoted), but the figure for CR appears to be out of date.
As I pointed out in other threads, when you do a reasonable economic analysis to account for differences in currency values and inflation, CR was no more of a success than DAD, apart from its record business in the UK.The Sweeney wrote:You are having a real problem with CR's success, aren't you.......PeterFranks wrote:Zounds! Quite right. In the USA, no Bond film is past the top 100. CR is the highest to date at 119.paco chaos wrote:where does it rank in overall box office in the USA? just curious. I know it's bigger in Britain. and I think it's funny when the USA is out of the loop on something, since we do tend to dominate the entertainment industry a bit too much most of the time
