Quarks 3rd for first week DVD sales

Post by Mazer Rackham »

Yes, that right. Our favorite film Quark (AKA Quantum of Nothing) opened in a pathetic 3rd place. Adding insult to injury Quark sold 1million less in the first week than CR did.

Quark sold about 1.2 million DVDs the first week and less than 340k blu-ray discs, which is pathetic as well. Twilight selling a bare fraction of their DVD sales on blu-ray because Target and Best Buy have a special early release agreement have sold more than 400k Twilight blu-rays. Bolt, that yipping failure of a movie, has sold more than 200k in Blu-rays and at least 300k more dvds its first week than Quark.

By all industry expectations Quark should have sold 3.2 million DVDs the first week.

I'm just noticing it hasn't been doing too well. And, to be honest,QOS has had some heavy competiton.Sure, it's not outselling QOS by much, but I think it's an interesting comment that Twi freaking light is doing better saleswise than QOS

Just a general observation aimed at nobody in general:I said this on another thread and I'll say it here:It's rather interesting that QOS is getting outsold by other movies. I mean,it's practically in the bargain bins now!

Wow, aggressive Bond's ghost. Take it easy partner. As far as I can tell the only people I bully are the people like katied who constantly send me pm's. It gets tiresome.
So lose the attitude noob.

Temper, temper you two.
What didn't you get enough easter eggs or something?
This isn't an Mi6 bashing discussion. It's about the dvd sales for QOS.
It's not really an important issue.

Bond's Ghost,I don't know where you live, but around where I am,it seems like they couldn't get QOS out of the front of the stores(Best Buy especially)fast enough. Before it came out on DVD there was a huge poster for it in the window of Blockbuster.A few days later,I went back and QOS had been replaced by another movie.Ouch.

I don't know about sales but in my area the most popular nextflix rental is P.D. James: A Taste for Death, with QoS coming in #19.

I do know walmart had a huge display pallet but never moved it to the center of the store, as they did for other mvoeis like Madagascar 2. That same pallet also was not filled with QoS, it had a lot of the old SE DVDs too :?

They should be embarrassed. Not as embarrassed as the studio getting the sales info
Marley and Me easily beats Quarks opening week.
Quark dropped from 3rd to 6th after selling less than 400k DVDs in its second week..It's a lemon that for sure. Let see if they can make lemonade with it.

I don't think there's any way to spin that to make it look good.QOS on DVD is a FLOP. It's already getting price markdowns in a lot of places.Seriously, even if they tried to *give* them away, they couldn't.People would be all "Thanks, but I heard it's crap."
