I've never seen the appeal of Owen as Bond myself, but Craig's box office history shows that you can have a string of flops and still put bums on seats as Bond.

The same could be said of most of the rubbish that hollywood churns out nowadays Stromberg.
I could say the same thing for Die Another Day. A load of rubbish with a OO7 stamp on it.

Seems to be a lack of discussion on the Oscars around here.
Considering Hugh Jackman was many members here choice to take over the Bond role, or at least a potential contender. I thought there would be more discussion.
He comes across as too fey imo.
He's a likeable bloke, and it wouldn't kill me if he landed the role. But there would be people above him.
Christian Bale...Sam Worthington...Daniel Craig. Oh wait, we've got him.
Bale's antics have ended any Bond chance. Owen is not a contender any longer either. Eon won't spend the money for Jackman's first Bond film which would demand Craig's third Bond film salary to get him. All in all, Eon has sunk deep into their pockets to promote Craig and is in a box now with what to do with him.

Eon may have to hire another unknown to replace Craig (when he is replaced).

At this point, excluding Jackman, it would most likely be a free for all choice, but he would have to look the part, being tall, handsome, with dark hair, and a pleasant attitude, not like the dour, sour, depressing Craig.

I mostly agree with that, but wouldn't want someone too pleasant. A good Bond should be charming on the exterior, but capable of portraying the dangerous depths beneath.

I agree, Jackman does look good for his age. And he did a very respectful job of hosting the Oscars.
But he's too much of a song and dance man for my liking. I do like him, I enjoy Wolverine, but it's not a really demanding role is it?
He's just to light for Bond in my opinion. Though as I've said before. If he landed the role it wouldn't be the end of the world.
Can't see it happening now though.
Not sure who there is that could become a potential Bond #7.
Bale is out, Jackman and Owen to old, Sam Worthington ???? though if Avatar is a success, he might be to pricey for EON.

Maybe Henry Cavill. A little too youthful looking, but he has grown on me as a possible Bond.

After 4 weeks in Japan, Mamma Mia!($21.3 million) has outgrossed QOS($19.9 million) which has been there 5 weeks now. Head to head, Brosnan's musical flick is more popular than Craig's Bond flick and twice now, an animated film has outgrossed Craig's Bond films in the USA. More food for EON/MGM to ruminate over and decide what to do in 2011.

It looks like Eon will have to make an animated musical Bond film.
It's not just QOS....there are a couple of other Bond films that are worse.
