Which aspect of the classic Bond films do you miss most?
If you had to bring back one classic Bond element for Bond 23, which would it be?

I thought of putting that as an option, but figured that, given the name of this forum, we could probably take that as read.FormerBondFan wrote:A traditional dark haired Bond.

I miss Bond adn as you know Penny too. But I had to vote for "Villains who don't look like they'd lose a fight with a 10-year-old girl" too good not to

I was tempted to say "Sean Connery".
I voted for Larger than life henchmen. A Captain Nash (not DCINB's one, the Bob Shaw one!!!) or an Oddjob would liven up the series again.

Let's not forget that Bond is 6'1'' to 6'3'', which is another missing classic elements from the series these days.

Sorry mate, but I can't let that one go by without a comment. That was a dumb remark if ever I've read one.FormerBondFan wrote:Let's not forget that Bond is 6'1'' to 6'3'', which is another missing classic elements from the series these days.
Watching QoS and CR, I could not tell whatsoever how tall Craig was in the film.

I voted for a better villian.
'She looked sharply up at him. 'And who might you be?'
'My name's Bond, James Bond'.
'My name's Bond, James Bond'.

To be fair to FormerBondFan, DC appears shortish in his Bond films to me too, especially in crowd scenes. It's a legitimate quibble because James Bond is not supposed to strike one as a bit on the short side.

I said "other"... the music is the thing I miss the most. Like Stocks said, "Barry"... That's what's missing.

Re: Which aspect of the classic Bond films do you miss most?
Well, I was referring to elements that were consciously jettisoned with the reboot. JB sadly left 20 years before that, though he was apparently offered GE and, depending on which story you read, either turned it down or asked for too much money. Shame, Eric Serra's score for that film was a major weak point for me.retrokitty wrote:I said "other"... the music is the thing I miss the most. Like Stocks said, "Barry"... That's what's missing.

If anyone's craving a Barry fix, go to http://www.tcm.com and check out their video clips section. The opening credits to The Black Hole are in there, with a wonderfully sinister John Barry theme - shame about the actual movie!
